i got nothing but time
Date & Time: 11/30, some crazy hour.
Location: rooftop in the city.
Characters: BATWOMAN and ROBIN
Summary: meeting each other for the "first" time.
Warnings: tba
[ The quiet is almost foreboding. Back home, Gotham was the city that never slept-- especially crime. While some civilians tucked away for the night, certain others came out from every nook and cranny. Carjackers, jewelry store thieves, organized crime, drug dealers... you name it. There was always something moving about in the dark, whether you could see it or not.
But Exsilium... it seems so tame in comparison, despite Kate understanding that is not at all the situation. It's been a couple of weeks and she's barely laid a hand on anyone crossing a line they aren't supposed to. It's not entirely unwelcome, but it is odd and does make her think many things she shouldn't be thinking.
She wonders how the Robins and the Teen Titans (who are not the Teen Titans) were faring in this city. Although she knows how to use the shadows to her advantage, tonight she's the streak of red moving across rooftops and alleyways that can be spotted if one knows just when and where to look. She's curious; will someone else show their face? It's a huge risk she's taking, but one she's willing to take as of tonight. ]

Quieter.
He spends most night running on the rooftops, trying to prove that he's not losing his edge or going stir crazy. Most nights it takes the edge of his pent up energy. Tonight it looks like it will actually pay off. He whistles from his rooftop at the sight of the flashing red. His voice carries over the night air, bright and proper Robin.]
Hey! Never seen a red bat before.

She stops at the edge of a rooftop, most of her form hidden beneath the long cape draped around her. When a cold wind passes, Jason will get a good look at the red bat on her chest, if the pointy ears don't give her away immediately. ]
Hello to you, too.

Didn't know there was anyone else from Gotham running around. So let me guess, Batlady, right? You a match for the tiny girl Robin we got bouncing around?

Woman. [ She corrects; it's hard to tell if she's amused or not. ] No, I don't do the Robin thing.

[ He's not really sure how to respond to that second part at first, just kinda makes room for her in his nice rooftop shadow. ]
Yeah? You're missin' out, lemme tell ya.

I prefer flying solo.
no subject
[ He thinks about Bruce flying solo. Can't help wondering how much better off the guy would be without him... He shrugs it off.]
Gotham's not exactly a one-crime fighter town.
[Because he's still from before there was a crime fighting crazy for every crime making crazy in Gotham.]

I'm damn good at what I do.
no subject
Yeah, I figured.
[ Because you just don't last long in Gotham if you aren't good and you sure as hell don't last with the Bat if you aren't damn good. Jason always figured he tread that line pretty close.]
no subject
Glad to know, Robin.
no subject
[Because he's learning that you can't ever be too sure about those kinds of things around here.]
no subject
I could be asking you the same thing.
no subject
Pretty sure I'm not a lady, yeah.
no subject
You're taller. [ Than Nightwing-turned-Batman's Robin. A lot nicer, if the rumors about that Robin being mouthy and snotty are true. ]
no subject
Uh... Thanks?
no subject
No.
Focus. Think.
Alternate universes aside, a Robin means a Batman, so there's... someone from a Gotham competent enough to possibly keep up with her. ]
Damn multiverse theory.
You're either from another universe or... [ The past? Could this kid grow up to be the new Batman, maybe? ] The past.

[Pause.] So where does that leave us?
no subject
I don't know.
no subject
[Because stating the obvious might help them figure that out.]

I mean, Robin doesn't exactly fight wars, does he?
no subject
Just not like this. ]
You would hang up that uniform?
no subject
Dunno... Never thought of it before.
no subject
Better make up your mind, Robin. [ She says coolly, none too impressed anymore. She starts to walk from him. ]
