Date & Time: Jan 12th to Jan 19th (real time), July 11th to July 18th (historical time), 1884
Location: Black Rock, New Mexico, USA
Characters: All transports
Summary: Fearing UE reprisal, the Initiative corrals all transports and shoos them onto a mission back to the Wild West, to vote Gerald "Moony" Jackson in as Mayor of Black Rock. Transports are encouraged to used all their wiles to encourage townsfolk to vote in favor of him, too. Other than that, they're free to roam as they will for 7 whole days! Good luck finding food and shelter, masses. (See the OOC post for more information.)
The Initiative had been terse and rushed as they gathered the transports into the Transporter room, and anyone unwilling to participate will have been forcibly hurried along. The Initiative employees had seemed distracted and worried, and unwilling to stand around and debate. It was time to move. The teleportation had gone off without a hitch, and a roomful of transports have been treated, quite suddenly, to a broad and sunny blue sky, and especially to the heat of mid July in the American West.
Enjoy your weeklong stay in Black Rock, New Mexico! The town is small and sleepy, with just 3 good saloons and one questionable (but considerably cheaper) one. There are a few inns, but these inns aren't quite prepared to room a sudden influx of over 300 travelers, and some people might have to bunk up or get creative with their sleeping arrangements. If you sleep in an inn at all, of course. There's plenty of unexplored wilderness out there to sleep in instead, isn't there? Just make sure to check your boots for scorpions in the morning.
The only instructions are "vote for Gerald "Moony" Jackson for Mayor, and try to convince others to do the same", and you've been given just enough money to cover a very sparse room and board for 7 days, if you don't spend it in anything else.
So, how do you spend your time?
Edit: Overflow log!

open, day 1 or anytime
Ed is perched on the side of the well, looking down at the half-full metal cup of water in his left hand. His right arm hangs somewhat stiffly by his side. Apart from that, he looks content - faintly proud of himself, even.]
Wonder if I could charge for this. [He grins and looks up at the clear sky.] Nah, who am I kidding? What would I spend it on?
[But then he stops to consider the question for real, and frowns, temporarily distracted.
Later, for lack of anything better to do, he does head into town, mostly skulking around shaded areas and taking up space in the corners of saloons. He's still sparing that right arm of his, but if you watch him long enough to notice that, he's probably already eyeing you right back.]
no subject
That's some well you've got there. Pretty impressive.

[He'll take ego boosts where he can get them, though. In fact, under the circumstances forcing him to camp out here in the first place, he's downright grateful for this one. He smiles at Billy, and even refrains from commenting on the accent.] If you want to borrow it, feel free. There's enough to go around even if they did lie about this whole thing only lasting a week.
no subject
It's just really great that you're able to do this so quickly. And thank you. Um...may I?
[He tentatively reaches for the well]

Well that's not at all unsettling, though Mako was partly to blame. He'd been side-eying the blond kid each time he'd seen him.
Mako pushes away from the bar and moves through the crowds of loud and laughing patrons, even politely brushing off a good looking woman along the way. ]
Aren't you a little young to be in here?
no subject
I've done this before, thanks. What's your excuse, Mister Popular?
[Closer inspection will reveal, yes, that's a beer he's nursing. He clearly hasn't touched it this whole time, though.]
no subject
Mister Popular? [ Mako just gives this guy a raised brow. ] I'm doing what I was sent here to do, can the same be said for you?
I see you in here almost every day in the same corner with the same brooding expression on your face.
no subject
[Brooding? Oh, come on. Out of stubbornness, Ed forces his current expression into a humourless grin instead.] Sorry to hear it. Next time I'll pick a corner that isn't reserved. Or you could mind your own damn business and [he looks pointedly in the direction of the lady Mako excused himself from talking to on the way over here] keep working on that voter fraud they want out of us, but where's the fun in that?
[There. With a little luck, that'll be enough to distract this guy from the question of what Ed's doing indoors at all.]

[ Riku speaks from atop a horse, looking at Ed as he sits on the well. personally, that's what he's been buying--that and giving the money out to Transports who have less. the money he gets from playing songbird in this town is surprisingly good. ]
Just an idea.
no subject
[He eyes the horse.] But come to think, the horse isn't a bad idea either. [He grins widely.] That way you're multitasking.
no subject
Good point. Probably a good idea to start hunting now.
[ a pause, as he looks down at his horse. ]
As long as you don't steal one. I think the locals're starting to get testy.
no subject
He rests the cup on his lap and jerks his thumb at Riku's horse.] So how'd you afford that thing?
no subject
A good deed.
no subject
[He stifles a yawn, wondering if he should follow his own advice. Sure, the Initiative say they won't be here for long...]
Hope you had some idea about what you want to do with that thing if the food situation doesn't get that bad, as well.
