Summary: Sohki called Natsu out. It was time to play a little matchmaker.

[The weather was as it always was in the city, but that never seemed to get the kirin down. That was how he felt today as well even despite the rain falling down around him. He was never wet despite the amount of rain, and seemed to rather enjoy the sight around him even if most was a wasteland.

He waited quietly staring at nothing in particular. His eyes remained closed the entire time, but even the average passerby would find themselves just knowing that Sohki could see everything around him.]

[Rain was never an issue for Natsu. He was a walking human drier thanks to the nature of his magic. Which is why he always wore the most minimalistic of clothing on his upper body. Even now he still had his open vest revealing the toned body underneath. The rain only fizzled whenever it hit him causing a faint trail of steam to form around the Dragon Slayer.]

[Sohki had called him out and if not for the mention of Lucy's name he probably wouldn't have been rushing this much?]

[Soon enough he spotted the Kirin. Eyes closed as always but he remembered their first encounter that one time. He was a tough one and not to be underestimated. But that sense of danger wasn't in his mind this time. It was all about Lucy and whatever the mischievous deity had to tell him.]

[Mischievous? Okay he could give you that one, Natsu-kun, since he hit the nail on the head then. As things were, Sohki caught the scent of the Dragon Slayer approaching and smiled at the thought. Just as the child had been last time, it seemed that Miss. Lucy did play a rather important part to this boy's life.

He waited until Natsu had approached before finally turning to face the young Dragon Slayer. With a cheerful smile on his lips, Sohki clasped his hands together joyfully.]

You made it! How wonderful to see you again, Natsu-kun! It's been far too long.

[That she did. Honestly sometimes the only thing that had any chance of surpassing her in importance was his desire to find Igneel. And even that had dimmed down over time. Naturally he still wished to find his father but he wasn't as driven towards it as before. ]

Yeah it has. You're looking cheerful from what I can tell.

[Honestly now that he's not driven by anger he can certainly feel how odd this guy really is. But he did say he wanted to speak to him about Lucy so as long as that held true, Sohki had his attention.]

Oh ho~ well it is a waste to be any other way. [That was how he felt anyway! Even if he knew that Natsu was hardly here for that.

His movements were graceful as he closed the short distance between them. Slipping his hands into the large folds of his sleeves, Sohki chuckled.]

How long have you known Miss Lucy for?

True. Always good to be at your best all the time.

[Fairy Tail lived by that quite a bit. Natsu couldn't help but think how weird Sohki's clothes were but then he wasn't one to talk really.]

[The question caught him off guard though. ]

That's kinda complicated since we were frozen in time for seven years. But without that it'd be about five months.

[He clearly remembered the day and month when he met Lucy. Yet another clue most likely to how important that day had been.]

[It wasn't really the words that he spoke that Sohki was interested in, but more the words that Natsu didn't that he was. What he heard did cause his lips to upturn with amusement. It seemed that there definitely was something of interest there. How many men would actually remember the day and month in which they met another?]

And within that five months of knowing her, you've come to care deeply for the girl?

[Sohki's words were more of a statement than a question.]

May I ask how deeply?

[Congratulations Sohki you get a startled flinch as well as a moment of treason from his own mind.]

Of course I did. She's my partner after all!

[That other question though makes him fidget, going through a plethora of answers.]

I'd do anything for her. Anything to keep her happy and safe...

[He would do that for all his friends. Or so he lies to himself in denial.]
