Date & Time: Backdated waaaay back to the end of last month

Characters: Suzaku and Kaede
Summary: People making food for other people. Always a good deal.

[ Suzaku doesn't actually know what Kaede's schedule is like today, and he doesn't really want to keep her waiting any longer than he has to with picking this up so he's trying to hustle his way down the stairs to the second floor. Honestly, there probably isn't any real reason to rush, but he's trying to be somewhat considerate here, and it takes him almost no time at all to find his way to Kaede's apartment and knock on the door. ]

[ Expecting Suzaku to reach her floor within a minute or two, Kaede has already started packing up the food. She is moving towards the hotpot as there is a knock on the door, and she skips over to open it up. A smile breaks out on her face as she sees that it is indeed Suzaku. ]

Hello! I was just finishing packing up the food. Please come in!

[ He smiles back at her when she opens the door. Well if nothing else she doesn't look like she's in a rush to be anywhere else so he can breathe easier there, and she looks like she's in good spirits right now. He's glad for that at least. ]

[ Taking a step towards the door. ]

I'm impressed though. You work really fast.

[ Better to be in good spirits than to be pissed off and sassing everyone around her 24/7. Plus it helps that she distracts herself to be in good moods. ]

Well, I was already cooking when I contacted you, so it turned out to be perfect timing for the both of us. Hotpot is so easy to do and produces such delicious food.

[ That's true. Especially when a lot of other people around probably aren't feeling all that cheerful and friendly at the moment, it's nice to have someone making the attempt to stay upbeat. ]

Sounds like it. And you know I can't remember the last time I've actually had the chance to eat hotpot.

[ Mostly because he doesn't take the time to cook like he should most days. ]

Well, then I hope you like mine!

[ She moves back to the kitchen, putting the final container in a carrying bag. ] There's enough for you to share with someone else, or you can have it as seconds or later!

[ Maybe he could stop by Euphie's apartment and see if she'd be interested in trying any. He wonders if she's ever even had hotpot before... He'll have to make sure to let her know who the cook is though, since he's sure Euphie would want to express appreciation to the cook. ]

I'm sure it'll be great. Thank you, Kaede.

You're welcome, Suzaku!! [ And since she is a great little hostess, she'll walk with him to the door. ] I hope our next talk is over happier things — well, as happy as it can get in this place — but you never know what will happen, or what the United Scum will do for that matter. They really need to go take some chill pills or something...

[ As he walks with her he's stiffening up a little at the mention of the United Earth. She's right, there's no telling what they'll do next. Considering the things they're capable of it's not unbelievable that at any moment this entire island could be wiped off the map.

He's not going to say that to Kaede though. ]

You're right about that. Hopefully we'll get some time to recover from everything that happened recently though. I can't think of anyone here that couldn't use some down time right about now.

[ She has an idea it can be wiped in one go, but she likes to not think about that. That is Worst Case Scenario thoughts right there. ]

[ Worst Case Scenario... but scarily possible all the same. He nods at her one last time as he takes a step out the door. ]
