no one man should have all that power
Date & Time: July 8, morning
Location: training facility in the Hold
Characters: Haruto, Thassarian, Kerrigan
Summary: anything I say here is going to sound like a setup to a bad joke, so: a wizard, a death knight and a psychic walk intoa bar the training center, etc
Warnings: idk we'll see
[ Haruto is not-quite-loitering in the middle of one of the open training rooms, dressed as normal in jeans and a t-shirt. He'd told Kerrigan and Thassarian ten, in deference to the fact that Thassarian lived out of the city, but he's been around the building since nine, just in case. (Also, it meant he got to camp out inone of the nicer rooms.) He likes to make a good impression, and 'fashionably late' only really applies to parties, not training meetings with soldiers.
He keeps kind of idly practicing with one sword, running through a drill of fence parries, but as soon as he spots anyone in the room he turns and straightens up to say hello, swinging the flat of the sword up against his shoulder. ]

Hi.
Hello hi hey
[That's a hello, right? Yeah, close enough. Thassarian nods.]
I hope I'm not late.
hi hola howdy
[ Haruto's mouth quirks. He likes compliments, especially on something self-taught. (Well, self-taught alongside countless bruises, before he'd learned what he was doing.) He lowers his sword to his side; holding it out is kind of rude. ]
I haven't seen Kerrigan yet, so I think you're safe.
so about being fashionably late
So I'm teamed up with both of you, right?
[She says, keeping it short and sweet after walking into the room.]
at least you're fashionable
Speak of the devil...
[ He lifts his free hand in greeting. ]
That's us.

[He shrugs slightly.]
I don't have much experience with it, so I'm not volunteering myself. I'm much better at following someone's lead.

Used to be a lieutenant a couple of years back.
[And up until recently, she kind of ruled her own race of evolution-happy alien bugs that almost conquered the galaxy.
so that counts for something. right?]
If it comes down to finding and needing a leader, I'll volunteer.

Sounds like we've got that under control, then. I have a partner, but we work autonomously for the most part. Not much experience with leading anybody besides myself.
[ Not much interest in leading anybody. He's capable of teamwork, but he doesn't know that he'd trust himself in places where people could get hurt. A pause, then: ]
Without much idea what he's planning, we might want to just--be prepared for whatever, right?
[ He looks toward Kerrigan. ]
no subject
Well then, I guess you're it.
[And then a nod to Haruto. Prepared for anything...he doubted that they could really do that, but preparing for as much as possible never hurt anyone.]
no subject
[Back in the saddle, this aught to be good.]
Why won't both of you each tell me about yourselves? Might as well know what I should expect once we're in there.
no subject
He pauses, thinking.] I've been here for seven months, and my weapon is my magic. [He says it with emphasis, so it's clear he means the one Exsilium had offered.]
no subject
[Blizzard why]
My weapons are my runeblades- [He gestures to the swords sheathed on his back, ones that glow with cold blue light.] -and I'm skilled with using frost.
[And raising the undead but maybe it's best not to mention that on the first meeting with his new friends.]
no subject
[This has to be one of the first time she's seen someone being brought back to life look so much to how they used to be. At least, she assumed his appearance stayed the same. Might be a subject worth looking into later on.]
I suppose I should do the same. I've been in the military for a long time. Sniping, assassination, infiltration... Did it all and more, and I was pretty good at it, too.
no subject
[Princes, resurrections... it's not so much that it seems fantastical as it does very complicated.
At least he understands the military, and Kerrigan's duties.]
I feel woefully undertrained, all of a sudden... [Getting your powers from a guy tossing you a belt and a dead girl: not recommended.] But I can take direction.
I kind of specialize in demolition, if that helps.
no subject
You'll learn. Most important skill a soldier can have is to listen to his superior.
[He nodded slightly to Kerrigan. He hadn't spent much time around women who commanded military units, but he had no reason to doubt her- he'd known enough Death Knights and adventurers that had been more than capable.]
no subject
[But Kerrigan figures she can save you too, if she really has too...]
Alright, are we good to go?
