Summary: Halfpipe needs to go shopping, so she calls an acquaintance.

There was only so far the few things a girl picked up on short notice at the nearest second hand shop could get her, and Halfpipe was close to the end of her rope. But, thankfully, not too close to the end of the handy little allowance the Initiative provided.

And so she put in a call, and told Vanadi that he'd never managed to show her a place where she could get a coat that wasn't comparably ugly, and the date was set. This was how one damp and dreary afternoon, Halfpipe found herself again on the arm of the much-shorter kitrite and eyeing shop windows.

"There is a shameful lack of leather in all of these stores," Halfpipe lamented.

"Why, my dear, that's only because you aren't looking in the right stores." Admittedly, the right stores are very few and far between here, but still. "If you'd mentioned leather earlier, we'd be well on our way to all sorts of delights by now."

"You know this place that well, huh?" she asked, her eyes turning from the buildings to his face. "How long have you been here, anyway?"
