[ It'd taken a bit of snooping around to find out where Roslyn lived because, of course, Cat couldn't just ask her. But it hadn't been difficult to figure out on his own. And surprises are more fun anyway!!

He knocks on her door and immediately assumes an exaggeratedly casual pose, hands hooked into his pockets, sunglasses -- despite the dreary weather -- slightly askew across the bridge of his nose, a cheerful and completely innocent grin on his face.

Catsovi speaks as soon as the door's opened. ]

Pardon me, I appear to have lost my way. Is this the bar?

[ She had always adjusted well to absence of people, by virtue of necessity and practice more than anything, but Bariyan's was one she'd found particularly unpleasant. He'd been here so long she'd started to think neither of them was ever leaving.

And this Catsovi person had hardly made it easier.

But she wasn't expecting him to show up at her door, and while her hand drops immediately to where her gun would be if she didn't take it off when she gets home she doesn't move otherwise, just watches him with one hand on the doorjam and the other on the door itself, blocking his way in. ]

Does it look like one?

[ Still grinning, Catsovi taps his sunglasses, then lowers them to stare through Ros. ]

I don't know. You tell me.

[ Then he pauses, frowns, and arches an eyebrow. ]

Ms. Small?

It's not.

[ Her voice is flat and unamused, body blocking the way in as she takes a step out towards him. ]

Yes. And you're Catsovi. Interesting post you made.

[scornful]

Ahh, was it? I can't recall. I remembered being quite outraged, but the rest is a blur, and I was far too embarrassed afterwards to look it over again.

[ Cat pushes his sunglasses back up the bridge of his nose and tilts his head one way, then the other. ]

I hope I didn't say anything rude.

I didn't pay that close attention to it after the first few comments.

[ A lie, but she doesn't see any need to tell him how closely she's been trying to watch him. ]

I wouldn't know if you said anything rude then.

Then I think the kindest thing to do would be to assume that I didn't.

[ Cat straightens up, and assumes a slightly more solemn expression. ]

Bariyan was a close friend of yours, was he not? Then I'd like to apologize, again, for my uncouth behavior in our first conversation. He was an enemy of mine, but that does not make you one, as well.
