( open ) i'll fly you to the moon and back

Date & Time: September 21st - September 30th, 11:59 PM
Location: The Hold, the Moon Base
Characters: Any/all.
Summary: The Transports are evacuating to the Moon Base. Those on the Moon Base try to settle in and figure out their next move. Setting info can be found here.
Warnings: Talk of nuclear warheads and reference to immense loss of life. Please contact the mods should any individual thread get graphically violent or anything else of the sort.
Note: Use date and location tags in your subject headlines! Such as "On the moon, 23rd onward" or "On the spaceship, 25th" or "down at the Hold, 29th."

The Hold is a flurry of activity, grim faced members of the Initiative group directing supplies and people with the subdued air of people facing their own doom, and wondering at how to process the knowledge. None of the Initiative appears unaware of what will happen; their eyes linger on the Transports, expressions pleading, hopeful, doubtful, or immeasurably sad in turn.

Every eight hours, the space ship is sent back up with a load of people and supplies. The pilots are worked until they can't; the AI stolen ages ago by the Initiative greets and corrals people and supplies at both ends, and in the middle step between.

The network continues to broadcast on narrow channels between the Moon Base and Exsilium, up until the time that all connections are lost, with the carrier located en route to Exsilium. The first airship will pass by without dropping anything, but it's too early to celebrate. At a six hour delay from behind, the second airship arrives, and with it, the dark promise of the Black Code's nuclear weaponry.

The six hour window allows for time for those left behind, either by choice or circumstance, to be pulled to the Moon Base with the successful activation of the Transport Pad. New characters will ultimately arrive with the remainder of those not yet on the Moon Base, all in time to witness the explosive contact of the nuclear warhead with the ground of Exsilium live on satellite.

But until then, there's only the hurry, the silence, and the potential for full out rioting should the Transports spread word to the Exiles inevitably left behind to face this fate.

25th - on the spaceship, 25th onward - moonbase

25th - On the spaceship

[Xion and Roxas had opted to travel together, of course. You'll find though, that they've claimed not two seats but three. And that's because, in the middle, they have a box sitting between them. Each of them has one hand on that box, holding it protectively.

They'll also glare quite vehemently at anybody who suggests they give up that seat.]

25th - Moonbase, Living Pod wings

[Xion's a bit subdued as she pokes her way down the hallways of the Living Pod wings, favoring her left foot a bit still. Every few doorways, Xion pokes her head into the room to see if it's relatively empty or not, backing out with a few apologies.

She's still holding the box, though its contents seem slightly more restless than they were before. Then again, it has been several hours since this whole ordeal started.

Once a room has finally been picked, Xion settles herself on the bottom bunk of one of the bunk beds and opens the box up at last. Xion's left the door open, and passers-by will notice a cat ambling its way around the room curiously.]

26th Onward - throughout the moonbase

[Xion's been taking her time to explore around the base itself, a little hesitant and nervous. In some ways, the spartan layouts are a bit too reminiscent of her nearly three weeks spent in UE's care. But in other ways that's an advantage, in that it isn't too much of a surprise. And at least the Initiative has given them a bit more to do.

For example, one might find her in the simulation room. Unfortunately, there was no real way to program Twilight Town into the computer itself, but she's managed to make herself a passable substitute. Thus, anybody who enters will find themselves at the top of Big Ben at sunset, only the city around them isn't London, but instead some small unnamed town surrounded by golden hills. Xion's sitting right at the edge of the ledge, her legs hanging over the side.

Or lastly, one might find Xion looking around tables in the cafeteria, trying to spot anyone she recognizes, particularly from her time in the UE compound. After her verbal run-in with Dist, Xion's not touching the network at least for another day or so.]

[Luke is still trying to get settled in. He's not procrastinating so long that he ends up needing teleportation to get up, but he's spent all week trying to help the Exiles in whatever way he can, all the while keeping quiet about what he knows of the oncoming panic. But that's over now. There isn't much else he can do, so he took his stuff (and some of Asch's) up to the new base, and he's trying to get acclimated.

He spots someone who looks familiar. From the beach mission? Yeah. She was more red then-- and so was he, actually. His skin stings when he thinks of it. He saw her on Dist's entry, too, being as furious as he was. He's wondering about that, but it's obviously personal.

He's not sure if she'll remember him, but she looks like she's a bit lost, so maybe...]

Hey-- [Too quiet, she can't hear him--] Hey!
