(openish | prison log) lock our eyes on distant horizons

Date & Time: Nov. 19th - ??? at least several days, tbd
Location: Empty housing in the West Wing.
Characters: Arrested mutineers & visitors (potentially YOU)
Summary: Everyone locked up some mutineers so now they're slightly stuck in place.
Warnings: there will probably be discussion of violence and death, will add if necessary.

[ Mutineers have been put in some of the empty rooms in the West Wing, one guard at a time on the hallway and the doors only able to be opened from the outside for now. Roslyn and whoever else she can get to volunteer are rotating guard duty.

They have been set four to a room for the moment.

Cell 1: Charlie, Connor, Max, and very briefly Sev
Cell 2: Chloe, Marie, Tempest, Bond
Cell 3: Sev (after not long at all)
Cell 4: Jesse (after taking Tempest's powers)

Visitors are allowed, but please note that anyone who had at any point been advocating violence against the mutineers in a place where Roslyn is likely to have seen it will absolutely not be allowed near them. Visits will be supervised and in a separate room from the cells for the sake of privacy, with the door open and a guard within easy eyesight  and earshot of any raised voices. 

Mutineers will start without access to their tablets but will regain access within approximately a day to two days. However! These tablets will be temporarily unable to encrypt messages. Private messages to personal inboxes are still accessible but on the network itself all their interaction must be public.

Guards on Duty: Roslyn, Riku, Raiden, Wesley Mitchell, Travis Marks, Seras Victoria, Caspian. Working on 6 hour rotations, so each guard is on approximately once every 1 1/2 days.

[ How long until she would find out? Charlie doesn't deal in information just for fun, after all.

To think Tempest was involved into the mutiny sounded like complete rubbish for Charlie at first, but the evidence was there, and only further confirmed once she goes to check the "cells" and finds her there.

She doesn't seem to be having a good time. Good, Charlie thinks, and regrets it immediately. What now? Rouse her up? Yell at her from over there? Charlie has been the one kicked on the floor for so long she can't bring herself to do that to anyone.

So instead she slides down the wall and stares at her in silence, wondering how long would it take for her friend to notice her in there. She hasn't made a sound so far, after all.

Well, time to find out. ]

[hyanaimne]

[Tempest can hear someone in the room, but she waits for a few minutes before actually saying anything. Even if she's ill, her senses are as honed as always, and light footsteps that may be barely audible to a human are still plenty clear to her.

She doesn't move, though, when she speaks up, and she sounds as miserable as she looks]

If you are going to sit there and stare at me at least speak up.

[falla]

You.

[ Charlie wants to glare at Tempest, but she can't hep but be worried instead. ]

Y-you look like sh-shit.

[hyanaimne]

[oh. Oh hell. Tempest had a very small list of people she didn't want to see her like this, and Charlie was one of the ones at the top. She shifts to sit up, wincing a bit before she's upwards and turns to look at Charlie.

Yeah. She absolutely looks like shit]

It is nothing.

[falla]

[ Yeah well, that didn't quite work so well, did it now Temp?

There is quiet contemplation for a moment, and then: ]

You idiot.

[hyanaimne]

[Tempest thunks her head back against the wall and sighs. Great]

My, what a compliment.

[falla]

[ Charlie shifts uncomfortable on her side of the room. ]

Why, Temp? Why d-do this all?

[hyanaimne]

[Tempest isn't looking at her. Her eyes are focused on the ceiling, because it's safer that way]

Because I agreed with their cause? Because I was tired of watching innocent people die? There are many reasons.

[falla]

I agree about th-the idea, but everything else...

[ She just shakes her head and stands. A moment later she's sliding back down next to Tempest. [

I sh-should punch you and be d-done with you.

[hyanaimne]

Everything else was necessary to get the message out.

[they knew how it would end, somewhat. No regrets. She glances at Charlie and frowns a little - that hurts. A lot. She has no idea how to even process that. The only thing she can do is give her that out, if she wants it. Who would want to be friends with her anyway?]

By all means, if you want to.

[falla]

[ Charlie remains in silence, because she doesn't really care. She knows the speech, and the one the other faction said as well, by heart. And she's tired of debate.

So she just moves a bit closer and sighs. ]

I c-can't. Won't s-solve a thing anyway.

[hyanaimne]

Would it not make you feel better?

[that's what she always thought, when she punched someone or . . . well, setting someone on fire is a little different but that's how it works right??]

[falla]

[ She scoots closer again, and their knees bump each other softly.

Welp, close enough. She keeps her eyes to the wall all the time. ]

Knowing y-you are find would make me f-feel better.

[hyanaimne]

[Tempest stares at their knees for longer than what really should be necessary]

I'm fine. [it's automatic to lie about how she is] Just sick. Not anyone's fault, either.

[falla]

You're n-not fine.

[ Yeah her eyes probably lingered on their knees for a while.

She feels slightly offended that Tempest would try to convince her of that, but she's still not as angry as the woman herself as she thinks she should. ]

Did so-someone hurt you?

[hyanaimne]

No. [she must look it though. For god's sake, she'd have to see if someone would give her a mirror so she could see just how bad it was]

Someone had dark magic and used it outside of the transporter room. Were it cast on me I would be dead - as it is, just being near it is enough to make me sick.

[she waves a hand, meant to be a dismissive gesture, but ends up with her just flopping her hand about] That's all. A few days and I will be fine.

[falla]

[ Charlie deftly grabs Tempest's hand on her own, her brain catching up a moment too late. It was mostly a reflex, but once she realizes what's going on, she doesn't let go. ]

Wo-would be dead? I d-don't understand.

[hyanaimne]

[Tempest's hand is ice cold, and it twitches when Charlie takes it, like she's unsure what to do with it now that someone has it]

Dark magic is akin to poison to my kind.

[falla]

[ Charlie's hand if warm, because hands usually are warm, okay. She just holds to it because she doesn't know what to do in case she lets go. ]

Has s-someone made sure you are safe?

[hyanaimne]

Safe from what? The hordes of people who wish to murder us?

[sarcasm means she doesn't have to think about anything else, ok]

[falla]

[ Charlie barely manages to muffle a little chuckle. Well at least Tempest has her sense of humor. ]

Dark m-magic. Is it safe for y-you now?

[hyanaimne]

Dark magic is never safe for me. But if you mean is it gone? Yes. You would hear quite a ruckus were it not.

[falla]

[ To that, she squeezes Tempest's hand a bit. ]

Good, th-that means I can go back at b-being mad at you.

[hyanaimne]

[Tempest glances at their hands again, and this time, she squeezes back a little]

Did you ever really stop?

[falla]

[ All this hand holding business is distracting, because Charlie realizes she's not really mad, which makes no sense. She's not letting go just yet though. ]

M-maybe for a little bit.
