Mission [CLOSED]

Characters: Zelos Wilder & Richter Abend
Summary: Going to give a miracle cure for a mission! Also awkward times.
Warnings: PG-13 as usual

[Normally, Zelos is happy to go on a mission. A mission was a chance to get away from the snow, the cold and have something to do that wasn't mending people's frostbite or figure out how to make another dish out of penguin meat]

[However, when the mission being assigned is with a man who supposedly tried to kill him- that enthusiam is all but dampened.]

[They appear in an alleyway of Berlin, Germany's capitol city. It's a rainy cool evening, and the people on the sidewalks seem to pass by without much noticing them. Zelos is more than okay with getting out of a dark alleyway with Richter]

[It's strange to say, but he's almost missed the rain.]

Right then, this doesn't look so bad...

[Richter's not sure how to feel about being sent on a mission with the Chosen. On the one hand, being regarded with suspicion the whole time was likely to become annoying, though the half elf didn't feel any particular drive to rectify it. On the other, the last time he'd seen the Chosen, the other had been acting strangely... But that, at least, must have changed since then. Why would he be sent on a mission otherwise?

Still, a mission was a mission. And this one shouldn't be too difficult]

Do you know who we're supposed to cure?

A foreign affairs minister I believe. We just have to figure out where he is and how to get to him.

[Assuming it's a he...he can't tell with german names! But yeah, he's definitely being wary of Richter]

You're not a healer too, are you?

[Richter walks past Zelos to look out one end of the alley. A minister, huh? They might be able to get more information from someone at the government building.

He looks at Zelos over one shoulder]

Not a dedicated one, but I know the basics.

[wilder]

Right, okay. That's something at least...

[And let's just get this out of the way]

And you're not planning at killing me at any point, right?

[dully delivered and without looking at Zelos;] ... Wouldn't that be counterproductive?

[wow, he doesn't even try to defend himself against that accusation. What a winner]

Let's figure out who we're supposed to be helping. Would you mind if I left the talking to you?

[because let's face it. Zelos is way more charismatic than Richter could ever hope to be. Emil and Aster are weirdos]

[And at that reply? He can't help but laugh dryly] Haha, wow! What a cold pragmatic answer! No defense, or lies to placate me! Guess I better make sure to keep being of use!

[Oh watch his back, whatever. He can work with that]

But fine fine. Get us where we need to go, and I'll do the rest.

... [were it anyone else, there would probably be a quip or another being volleyed right back at Zelos. But since it's Richter we're talking about, he doesn't bother]

Government building. Someone there should have some information.

[but the Chosen's probably smart enough to have realized that on his own... they should probably discuss some plan of action other than Richter following Zelos' lead in conversations even though that is clearly the best choice in this situation]

[And he simply smiles and gestures for Richter to take lead]

Sounds good. Lead the way.

[Did you really think he'd trust you enough to let you walk behind him? As for a plan, that'd be a topic that Richter is going to have to broach. Since Zelos is more than fine at improv. Or keeping the plan to himself.]

[green eyes narrow momentarily - he saw what you did there - but he takes the lead anyway, slipping out of the alley and onto the streets. Maybe there's a place they could pick up a map, then they could figure things out from there]

... [hey, Richter's all for keeping one's master plan to themselves, but they were supposed to work together. Supposedly.

Dodging around people in the meantime as he tries to find a map so they can get to the building that may or may not have information on their target. Why did this have to be a partnered mission?]

[Wow sorry Richter that someone with a history of you trying to kill doesn't trust you!]

[And he meanwhile follows after, silently. While Richter is dodging the people and focusing on finding a map- Zelos is watching them, observing them. Taking any possible notes he can in how to better blend in to this society. Their bright red hair is definitely getting some attention, but not enough to be dangerous. Most people seem to think it's some dye thing. ]

[But Richter is in luck, since it looks like there's a tourist shop up ahead with things like maps and souvenirs ]

[a history that said someone won't live through because he went and got himself killed two years prior. Though, honestly, you're talking to someone who let an entire campus think that he killed their star student without any resistance. The suspicion isn't what's bothering Richter]

[... well, that was convenient. Time to go search for a map or maybe ask the lady behind the cashier if she knew where City Hall was. Hey, if they went at it from a tourist angle, it's not too ridiculous, right? Richter was not made for these sorts of missions, but dammit he probably had to get directions around Aselia at some point.

And someone should really talk about that elephant in the room, known to most normal people as 'teamwork' and possibly 'communication']
