If you fall, you know I will catch you—

Date & Time: November 14th, nighttime
Location: Apt. 510
Characters: Korra ([personal profile] polar) & Asami Sato ([personal profile] chittybang)
Summary: Come to think of it, Korra and Asami don't actually know each other all that well.
Warnings: Cooties

[ Asami finds herself restless when she's alone. Not once since her arrival has she indulged in a full night's sleep. With so much going on at home that she can't even touch—Future Industries, her father's imprisonment, a damaged friendship—it's difficult to rest assured of anything.

She tells herself over and over that she has Korra. Korra, the Avatar. The girl who brings to mind her own insecurities, yet continues to make her smile. Her relationship with Mako is irrelevant until the guy shows up, although guilt pricks Asami for not asking the other girl how she feels about being apart from him. Even a part of her misses him, too, but in that gaping way one feels nostalgic for an ex. In the meantime, she has an opportunity to really get to know Korra the way she's wanted to, hence the reason she invited Korra over to her apartment.

Unfortunately, Asami doesn't have an indoor pool or a private racetrack to show off this time, and so they'll just have to talk and play with the new gizmos and gadgets they've been given. She's well aware they don't share common interests, but Korra has a neat personality. Asami is cool with herself, too. They previously fought in a war together, and they're comrades again now. They only have each other (and Naga) from their home world... So, it sounds like a good foundation.

All things considered, this is the one thing Asami actually feels good about.

She has her room cleaned up, not that there was much to move out of the way. She checks her profile in the mirror while waiting for Korra to arrive, meanwhile a frozen pie cooks in the microwave. Asami has been good about learning the new technology except for anything to do with cookware, but she does know how to work the microwave. The microwave is her friend. Besides, she can't even remember the last time she was responsible for cooking her own meal before arriving to Exsilium. Although the directions instruct baking in the oven, she just ran a sheet of tinfoil over the thing and popped it in that little quicker-cooker.

Kind of smells like it's burning, though. ]

[On her way to Asami's place, Korra can't help but feel a little awkward, especially after the last time she spent time with the other girl. Sure, that's behind them, but here, there are no distractions of Equalists, Mako, or even Naga; the latter was left behind due to size. It would just be the two of them.

They were opposites, each on a different end of whatever spectrum they were being placed upon. However, the Avatar reminds herself that there are things they have in common. Sort of. They just need to find more, and that's what this night is for!

So, standing outside Asami's place, Korra can't help but grin as she knocks. It would be fun, they'd make sure of that.]
