He wasn't actually sure if this world was bigger than any other world he'd ever been to, but it sure seemed like it was. Maybe it was because he couldn't leave and so he had no choice but to spend his time poking around. Usually missions were done in the span of a few hours, and there hadn't been a lot of worlds Axel was really inclined to get to know intimately, but here, well... It was better than sitting around the apartment, at least.
Ugh, he might have found this recon a lot more enjoyable if every part of this place didn't basically look like every other part of this place. Cityscape wasteland, forest wasteland, it was all the same: everything was a mess and the weather kind of sucked, and Axel really wasn't having a particularly good time. It didn't help that the number of people he'd encountered who were worth talking to was abysmally small. Sure, there were plenty of folks on the network who had something to say, but not much of it had interested him thus far. Really the closest he'd come was with that automail stuff--now that was pretty interesting.
Well, boredom was no stranger to Axel. Unfortunately, finding means of alleviating it had become increasingly difficult. He'd been to this forest once or twice already, but had found it a bit hard to navigate: that was a challenge, at least, and would do for now. What he hadn't found on his previous trips, however, was anyone else there in the forest at the same time.
He watched the boy in the tree from a distance for a moment or two--it was a boy, right? His wardrobe was a bit... froufy, and he had a rather effeminate face, but Axel was mostly confident this kid was a boy. Not that it really mattered, but for the sake of keeping track of people it helped to know. The kid seemed to be taking notes on things he found in the branches, and Axel found himself smiling a bit helplessly. It kind of reminded him of the way Roxas always took pains to remember details. Axel did find himself wondering from time to time just what sorts of notes Roxas kept.
Moving a bit closer, he deliberately stepped on a thin branch so that the snap of it would alert the boy to another presence in the area. No sense startling the kid out of the tree, after all.
"Find anything interesting?" he asked once he was close enough not to have to shout.
do you mind prose? if it's troublesome i'll go to brackets, but i prefer it in general. <3
