"It's a valid concern to have. The only thing I can say to do is keep him out of the fight, as I'm sure you have." It would explain why he hadn't seen the dog with her, along with never having been in a fight with her. The only people who knew for certain about his skills with a gun were Ionae, Dagger, Gordon, and Duncan. Elissa may have had an inkling because they had talked about it, but it was knowledge that was common in his world and not necessarily because he used one himself. As with so many things, people didn't know not because he was lying or hiding it, but they hadn't asked. The amount of people who knew, however, were more than he'd initially thought.
