Sakura doesn't know this woman, but she's an adult, and adults were exactly the sort of people she was supposed to trust. Granted, those were adults in her village, but she didn't know how many people from her village were around here. Adults helped little kids, even if they were Academy students, right?

"There's a monster," she says, trembling under Steph's hand. "A big monster that moves really fast and makes loud noises!" She sounds earnest, scared silly, eyes welling up again with unshed tears.

"It tried to eat someone, I saw it, and she barely got away. What am I going to do if it comes back? I have to protect people from monsters, don't I?"
