To him healing potions and first aid kits were common things to be carrying around everywhere. In fact, it was encouraged for young folks and adventurers to do so strongly. So he doesn't even bat an eye when he obviously sees it and instead busies himself with tucking the board away again to take out his own tablet. Once he has it, he continues writing with it instead although it's obvious he's not that smooth with it.

and that is alright, it can be quite overwhelming.
