Well, at least she admitted it. That was more than most people might have done. People had a habit of getting defensive when he criticized them; this reaction was certainly preferable.

"Enough to know that your grip is faulty and it's putting too much stress on your wrists. And thus it's really no surprise that you're telegraphing your strikes so far in advance. Anyone decent could get inside your guard before you finished your first move."

He had over thirty years of swordsmanship experience to back him up. Honestly, he couldn't remember having ever been as bad as her, but then, he'd been considered a prodigy at this discipline. His opinion and assessments couldn't be said to be unbiased. He had difficulty understanding, sometimes, that just because something came easily to him, that it didn't necessarily come easily to others.
