I'm happy if you're happy but it breaks my heart--
Date & Time: backdated to late March!
Location: A WHOLE NEW WORLD aka the city
Characters: Prince Arthur Pendragon and his trusty manservant/sidekick/lackey Merlin
Summary: this tour of the city is brought to you by a really grumpy prince who missed his servant more than he will ever say! but look Merlin has got to get to know his way around so he can stop asking questions.
[it's as if Merlin was never gone, which, generally, Arthur is cheered by. it isn't that he missed the big-eared moron, and he tells himself this nearly every morning when he sees Merlin. he didn't miss him in the slightest. it's just that it's convenient to have him around, because without Merlin, he has to do things himself, and he doesn't have time for that sort of nonsense.
a lie, of course, because all he has is time in this city. and the part about definitely not missing Merlin is, admittedly, also a lie, but like hell he would say that to anyone. no, he keeps that secret. mostly secret.
probably secret.
look, he's not a girl all right, it's really all a matter of convenience, and making sure that Merlin isn't off getting himself killed, which he has a tendency to nearly do, mostly because he can't keep his nose out of other people's business. but he's here now, and Arthur can keep an eye on him, and he can get back to doing all of the chores that he'd neglected--
but first he has to learn the city so he can not get lost. and he has to learn technology, because someone has to. Gwen does, probably, but Arthur isn't going to ask Gwen to do things for him. it's not proper.
Merlin, on the other hand, better learn quickly. and he'd better walk quickly, too, because Arthur isn't going to go any slower just because someone is lazy and has scrawny chicken legs and doesn't know what the phrase hop to means.]
Keep up, Merlin! Honestly, do you always drag your feet this much, or are you trying to make up for lost time?
