Oh, now there was a surprise. One minute the ground was littered with his victims the second they were gone just like that. While Belphegor couldn't see everything from his vantage point he could see enough to catch the girl that had been walking around the birds and the flash of light that followed as she rocketed into the air.

Well now... this looked much more promising than what he'd been doing before. While the birds were impressively sized they hadn't been much of a fight for him. While he (stupidly) had the confidence he could take care of this fight in no time flat, it would still be nice to face someone who might actually last for longer than five seconds.

Brushing some of the water off his pants Belphegor hoisted himself up into a standing position, keeping the blood covered knife on hand so there would be no doubt he was the perpetrator, flicking it up into the air and catching it with a practiced ease as he wanted for the confrontation to come to him.
