lovely day to meet the neighbours [closed]

Date & Time: May 7th, afternoon
Location: Apartment 109
Characters: Cedric Diggory, Sohki, and possibly Keith Goodman later
Summary: New roommates yet again? Let's see if old friends stop by.
Warnings: Trolling, nothing too serious.

Cedric doesn't mind this moving business too much. The roommates he has never stay---inevitably they go off to find their other friends or leave Exsilium shortly after moving in, so he hasn't had a stable group since he's arrived. Whoever he lives with now will be more strange faces leaving after a few weeks, right?

He doesn't want to take over the whole common space, but he lights it with his little blue flames in jars all the same. When it looks nice, warm, and cosy, he sets about making tea once again. Hopefully he'll get roommates who don't mind the scent of it.

He wasn't one to much enjoy the indoors too much, but with the way that this Earth was, there was little scenery to enjoy. That was, perhaps, the hardest thing on the kirin while being here in this world. All of the destruction that the humans had caused was something he knew would eventually unfold in his own reality, but he would have faded away long before reaching that point.

Sohki pulled himself out of his thoughts as lightning flashed throughout the common room. Where the area by the window had been devoid of anyone moments before, Sohki now stood as the light faded away. His reaction was instant as he caught sight of the far too familiar wizard just a little further ahead, and without hesitation, the kirin joyfully flung himself forward to wrap his arms around the boy in a near-overbearing glomp. "Cedric-ku~~~~~~n!"
holy_prankster: (Oh don't think I don't see you)

"A little off? I'd say it was almost perfect," Sohki announced. Well perfect if you ignored the obvious spilt hot water and the pain that the wizard was undoubtedly experiencing. It built character, right? That's what the kirin thought as he pulled away from his glomp and chuckled cheerfully.

"Run it under a little cold water and you'll be fine~ Unless you have a spell for it?" He didn't, but he hadn't been born to heal others. Just to guide and protect them... and by them he meant one person.
holy_prankster: (This is what I mean~)

The roll of eyes had him chuckling lightly. He hadn't missed the fondness that the wizard was attempting to hide, and the kirin found it fascinating. There were only two in recent decades who had viewed him in such a way, so it was something that Sohki hadn't expected. This boy was a curious one!

"Yes, I can imagine."

Sohki moved to gracefully take a seat while Cedric attended to himself. The tea did smell delicious, from what he could catch on the air. It wasn't yet brewing, but the kirin knew that the scent would be exquisite once it was. "Mmm this is where I've been assigned, my dear boy~"

"It seems so, yes~!" His voice was bright and cheery as he announced that. The tiredness had the kirin peering over with a smile. He could glance into the young wizard's thoughts, and he found it an interesting concept. Magic had never been draining on him, but it had been a few thousand years since he first trained to control it.

"You don't do well with strangers, Cedric-kun?"

He supposed that he could understand that to a degree. Well as much as he could given that he had lived as a hermit for the last few hundred years, but he knew that humans were social creatures unlike his kirin. They didn't function well without the support of those to grow fond and attached to - something that was so very human.

"We all must travel along then Wheel of Life. There are times where our paths cross and align together, and others where they must part ways," Sohki quietly murmured. His eyes opened in the next moment, and while they were dull and sightless, he looked directly over to the young wizard with a rare expression showing his age and wisdom. "Isolation is a state of the mind. Once you overcome that, you will discover that you will never truly be alone."

"Yes and no!" To be more accurate, you simply didn't care about such things. So in a way, the individual in question did lose such crippling experiences, but that was because they no longer cared about such things. Hardly minding as Cedric finished tending to his burn, he knew what the wizard meant, but couldn't help but teasingly clarify. "As in me? Or just a 'you' in general?"

"You can't build what you need on my example," Sohki said to begin with. It was impossible given their differences. Kirin were solitary creatures, after all. Yet he knew that Cedric needed to hear something even despite it being impossible for the wizard to mirror. "I, however, travel and search for all of those flames that flicker out one final time to witness their passing and remember them. A single flame or the flame of an entire species."

The humans were destroying life faster than it could evolve to survive. He seemed to grow distant for amoment before coming back to his senses. Gifting Cedric with a cheerful smile, he said, "Although I did decide to entertain myself by visiting my darline Fuuto-kun before this world drew me here."
holy_prankster: (Sohki you jerk!)

[personal profile] holy_prankster 2013-05-15 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
"I am one of his guardian beasts," Sohki said in return. "He is the Holy King in my realm, and has twelve guardians protecting him. I am the first."
holy_prankster: (We're going to do things this way)

[personal profile] holy_prankster 2013-05-15 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Now that had him laughing lightly. He could only imagine how Fuuto would react to that, and the thought had him smiling. Fuuto did give him some of the best reactions.

"Garuda-kun looks after the young king," Sohki said in return. Oh he knew the fishing was there, but he didn't mind. The kirin was hardly bothered with his bond and connection to Fuuto and the other guardians. "I merely observe and protect the growth of his soul. The shell means nothing to me."
holy_prankster: (Oh ho - Teasing)

[personal profile] holy_prankster 2013-05-15 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Cedric-kun, even while around Fuuto I still did whatever I fancied," he said with a wide smile. It was part of what made the others so cautious and frustrated with him, after all!
holy_prankster: (Amused)

[personal profile] holy_prankster 2013-05-16 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Mmm I have yet to decide," he said showing a rare moment of honesty. The smell of the scones and biscuits was lovely on the air, and Sohki didn't bother hiding his interest. "Human matters are human matters, even if I have been brought to this world."
holy_prankster: (Amused pondering)

[personal profile] holy_prankster 2013-05-19 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"Your matters? Oh but I would love to hear them, Cedric-kun~" Sohki was genuine with that as he clasped his hands together and leant forward a little. "And not at all~ I just do not consume meat."
holy_prankster: (Mmm is that so?)

[personal profile] holy_prankster 2013-05-23 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
He listened quietly to the young wizard's words. Cedric truly was far too kind in so many ways that it was no wonder that he was finding it difficult to adjust. It was just unfortunate that such kindness wouldn't be able to grow and flourish in this form, at least not in the world he was born into.

"The journey within this shell you're in will end, yes, but your journey is never over," Sohki murmured to begin with. "It can be, but you can only do what you can only do. Do not let that discourage you."
