Bariyan followed Martin as if in a dream, still, his eyes looking elsewhere, around, behind, searching something out. When they entered Martin's room proper, Bariyan seated himself on Martin's bed. Only then did he return his attention to the here and now. He looked hard at the cranes, at the items that Martin was digging through, at Martin himself.
