Date & Time: May 24th, late afternoon
Location: ~Exploring Exsilium~
Characters: Jaime Reyes and Bette Kane (feathersandflames
Summary: Two superheroes go off to try and get a hold on their surroundings, because while one world might be damaged, they still have this one to get used to.
Warnings: Probably none.
Jaime couldn't say that he had felt great over the past few days - it would take a lot more than that for it to register that he had just fought in a full fledged war for a day. A war that they had lost, at that. He'd spent the last few days keeping to himself in his quarters, trying to come to terms with what he'd seen, and to a certain extent, what he'd done. No-kill rule aside, there was no denying that through either action or inaction, they had hastened the deaths of countless people. They had been told that they were fighting a war here from the get-go, but that didn't mean that Jaime had been prepared. Whatever lay ahead, that was one hell of a first mission.
Nevertheless, he couldn't just sulk in his room forever. For all that they had lost - and even thinking about those numbers was almost beyond his comprehension - they were, in theory, being given a chance to stop it and stop those who would go after their own worlds. While this did mean in part a certain dedication in actually getting better at fighting, Jaime figured that learning more about the world the Initiative was trying to save was the most important thing on their plate.
Thankfully, they weren't alone. He had been thinking about making plans to meet up with Flamebird before the whole mess of a mission happened and ended up calling her to ask if she was still up for exploring. He waited just outside the Housing building for her arrival, already suited up in the bugsuit and ready to go.
