[Gilbert is secretly happy for the rain on the walk home. It drowns out the sound of their silence, fills it with an appropriate atmosphere for what's just transpired. If they'd returned and the sun was shining, it would have been far more angering. But regardless of the state of the sky, there's nothing that can fix this moment. No words he could say, or gestures other than standing here at Oz's side, reaching out to make some sort of connection between them so that his young master knows that he's not alone.
Though after what he just had to see, he's not sure that Oz even cares to notice him or not.
