The virus is spreading, and even the Dan is catching it. And so are their friends. This is whatever they decide to do during June while sick. Prose and action spam friendly!

[Shintaro, a little bit eager to get himself into one of the chairs at the counter and standing only because it's polite to let the visitor sit first, doesn't notice the frown. He instead thinks and answers the question.]

Nothing within the last two years, at the least. I've never donated blood.

Yeah, it looks like everyone's catching it.. And I did, too. [A shake of her head. Too late for her. But it's all right, isn't it? She's sure she'll be fine.] But, ah, I really don't feel too bad! I can help you with that.

You can sit down, Shintaro! You're sicker than I am! We'll be fine. [For the moment, at least, she's willing to believe Kaworu won't catch their illness.]

[He finishes writing down the instructions for this one—it's for Asch, so the instructions are really to keep Luke from getting out of hand—and presses it to the bottle.]

Please take a seat. [Putting his bag on the table, he starts removing supplies—a vial, a needle, a thick band.] The process is simple. A rubber band is wrapped around your arm. I'll insert a needle into a blood vessel at your elbow and draw a small sample of blood.

[You can't see the smile.] I believe the process is then to give the subject a cookie and orange juice.

[Let's say that he did. Keith pauses, then nods an affirmative at Kaede before pulling a folded up note from his pocket, opening it up and showing her the instructions. This would save him the trouble of remembering and saying it all out loud, and hoping the kids would remember it.]

... It isn't immunity to illness.

[This, he at least understands. Explaining what he does know would be helpful to Jade, he thinks, and so he will. All his sentences are short, and while he usually maintains his silence around the roommate, for now he opens his mouth.]

Time doesn't move forward. If it does, it goes back.

[Shintaro, on the other hand, looks amused by her request.]

I'm not saying that. I can take care of myself fine, though.

[He considered rolling up his jacket sleeve, but if it's going to be at the elbow it'd be quicker to just take it off entirely. So Shintaro shrugs off the red jacket and drops it on the back of one of the chairs, goosebumps immediately appearing on his arms; he's burning up, and the air is cold.]

Have you done this before?

[He nods his approval and quickly wraps the band around Shintaro's upper arm.] Often enough. ['I'm accustomed to extracting a different kind of data,' he doesn't say.

But the truth of his words becomes apparent in the deftness with which he selects a blood vessel, attaches a tub, and presses the needle in. There's no need to stab blindly looking for another. And Shintaro can have the fun experience of watching his blood beat its way into a clear tube.]

Well, it's a hobby that definitely helps around here, even if they're pretty advanced. How long have you been in Exsilium?

[ She takes the instructions and quickly scans it. Easy enough to follow, too. She folds it back up as she looks at him. ]

Kido is resting. I know she wants to check on everyone else, though, but a lot of that energy is gone. Kano is still being silly, even when sick. I think he wants us to believe he's not sick.

[She's a sweet eleven year old girl who brought him baked goods. Jade's sarcasm would be uncalled for with her. But he isn't very good at talking to small children. He wasn't able to do it properly even when he was one.

So forgive him his failures here.]

A little over two months, I believe. [He has to recalculate for Earth's calendars.] You said you'd joined the Mekakushi Dan? Was that a recent development?

[It's a little scary, he thinks to himself. He doesn't know Jade very well at all, and he was already uncomfortable with just Kaworu and Kido touching his forehead for his temperature. In his already weakened state, he has to concentrate not to tense as Jade wraps the band and puts the needle in his vessel. Seeing the blood appear in the tube, he feels a strong urge to yank himself away and apologize for offering, apologize for backing out after they'd already started and ask Jade to leave.

He flattens his hand against the counter to stop it from shaking, and lowers his head a little so he wouldn't have to meet Jade's eyes or watch his blood. He could just say he was tired.]

You said you were a soldier, before... a medic?

[clinical]

[Two thoughts: one, that this does indeed make it useless to what he needs.

Two, the words that Professor Nebilim taught him. It's precisely because there is a limit to life that people can change.]

I see. Then it indeed won't serve our purposes.

[Kido blinks, trying to figure out what that means. Half a year by his calendar but a year by theirs? So his years work differently...

So a year to him would be two years to them, right? Wait a second.]

[Did it scare him? Or is his fever worse than she thinks?]

Sorry. I'm used to having to mother people I guess. You can hold it then but if your arm gets tired I don't mind.

[She keeps the cloth held there until he takes it.]

[It beeps and she pulls it out, glancing down at it. Hm.]

...Bed. I'll make you something in a bit.

[So far so good. She's hardly at her best for the moment, but it's nothing too bad, absolutely nothing she can't handle. It's nothing compared to how sick her brother's steadily getting, in any case.

That in mind, Momo's taken it on herself to keep an eye on the door, to at least be able to greet some of the many visitors they keep getting. She's in the kitchen when the knock comes this time and quickly hurries to the door, immediately pulling it open... and finding someone she doesn't recognize on the other side for once. Who could this man possibly be... Is her brother expecting him?!]

...Ah? Yes, this is the Kisaragi apartment!

[Jade notices the signs, and he would stop, but at that stage, it's impossible. Instead, he finishes up quickly and elects not to take another vial. If necessary, he can likely replicate what Shintaro has provided.]

I've done work with my military's scientific research division.

[Needle out, band untied, swap of antiseptic over the place where the needle went in—and then a little bandaid with a cartoon bear's face on it.]
