[Anytime from the afternoon of the seventh to the ninth, house of redheads]
That's what he hates about this most of all, really. If Luke were at least a little sick, he could handle it. But no, instead he's had to deal with the idiot's hovering attention constantly. At least Asch has managed, somehow, to be productive in figuring out his new sense of the Seventh Fonon; Luke's a bright bundle of them no matter where he goes in the house, and Asch has been using that sense to pretend to be asleep whenever his replica checks in. It's not hard. He coughs as much asleep as awake, and curling up around his pillow is the least uncomfortable position to be in in either case.
Too bad that trick doesn't notify him of any other visitors to his sickroom door.]

Kido peeks in and calls softly in case he's resting.]
Oi, Asch?
no subject
Weakly, he shifts in the blankets and pushes himself up to look at her, not quite managing to sit up properly.]
What is it?
[His voice is hoarse from coughing.]
no subject
I was wondering how you were doing- [a.k.a. worried.] -so I wanted to check on you. Your throat sounds bad.
no subject
[She's got enough people to take care of without coming all the way out here to check on him. Asch scoots a bit so that he's got himself propped in a sitting position against the wall.]
Luke's hovering over me constantly as it is.
no subject
no subject
Maybe for some people.
[Asch is far too independent - having someone hover makes it feel like he isn't expected to take care of himself, and it chafes.]
How's your charity case?
[Spoilers, that's Shintaro.]

It makes sense. A weaker body is more vulnerable to things like this.
[Spoilers, Kido, that includes the senpai in front of you.]

dr mambo is a go
Don't worry. It has Asch's sleeping drugs too.]
I'm glad to see you've survived your caretaker. How was the chicken soup?
[He sets the bag down so he can pull out the phials marked for Asch. (Yes, Asch. Your drugs were made specially just for you.)]
oh no dr mambo
Then again, Jade's an old man. An illness like this would probably kill him.]
At least he doesn't put carrots in it.
[Secret lives of perfect isofons, right here in front of you.]

It's nice that you share tastes.
[So he sets down a trio of bottles, all neatly labelled in Jade's writing (he has military-report writing, not doctor's-signature writing, thankfully). He taps each as he names it.] Fever, cough, and the third to help sleep. [He knows.] The first two should make you drowsy regardless, so only use the third if it's still too difficult. If you're able, I want reports back from you more than anyone.
no subject
Asch goes to say something, but the minute he inhales, he gets sidetracked by a coughing fit. Whoops. As soon as he can breathe again somewhat normally, he'll be snatching that second bottle up.]
Because I actually know how to report it?
[Unscrewing the lid as he goes.]
What's the dosage?
no subject
The labels contain that information in case a third party requires it. [He means if Luke starts trying to mother you through medicine too.]
no subject
[He takes the measuring spoon and measures a dose carefully. Luckily Luke left him with a glass of water earlier, because like hell is any concoction of Jade's going to taste good. Down the hatch it goes and - yeah wow, gross.]
no subject
[BUGFACE. No, he knows it tastes bad. And he doesn't have the time to refine it into something more palatable. And Asch isn't actually complaining out loud, so the comment isn't criticizing Asch; it is teasing him.
Whoops Jade's developing a softspot for this redhead watch out.]
no subject
Asch is the big tough uncomplaining redhead, it's no wonder that Jade would like him.]
I've had worse.
[He sets the half-empty cup and the medicine neatly on the bedside table, within easy reach.]

the ninth
Oh, it's a homunculus who just peeked his head through your door. With a plate full of friands? You can fill them with fruits, so he thought that would be good for a sick person.]
Hello, Asch. I heard you weren't well.
no subject
Nope, not anymore.]
HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET IN MY HOUSE?
[The yelling promptly sends him into a terrible coughing fit. Good job, Chris.]
no subject
Relax, relax. It would be terrible if you hurt yourself.
no subject
That doesn't answer the question.
no subject
You must have left the door unlocked. Do you want milk with the friands, or is your stomach too upset for that?
no subject
I haven't gone farther than the bathroom in three days.
[Blaming Luke rn yep. And yet he's answering the question anyway.]
No milk.

no subject
I can get it myself.
[No he can't.]
