Hey. [He speaks up the moment he finds and recognizes his friends, whether they're in their room at the apartments or on a couch or in their own non-housing-building abode.] The Initiative finally made a vaccine. Hold out your arm.
[He's got a medical bag slung over his shoulder that he's opening, pulling out gloves and small syringes. They trained him for this (quickly). He's got this. It's pretty easy. And he doesn't look like he's sick at all anymore.]
Come on, give me your arm.
[He's trying not to get distracted. He remembers a girl with a scarf before he fell asleep a couple days ago, but he's scared to look and discover she wasn't there to start with. So he's on the move to push those thoughts back.]
no subject
It still makes her body shake, though.]
...Kano might not like it so be careful with him.
no subject
You're okay with needles, right? If you aren't, close your eyes.

[From sleeping and staying in (mostly) the same position for days on end, she really does feel sore. Her muscles protest too much movement and her breathing still feels heavily constricted. But she tries to seem fine and while she doesn't look away, she can't quite bring herself to look directly over at the syringe, either.]
So... when did you get better?
[Last she knew, Shintaro was practically keeling over. But now he seems perfectly fine. She has an idea but she won't say it.]
no subject
... I didn't. I don't know how fast the vaccine will help, but you should be fine now.
no subject
Kido rests her arm over her stomach as she looks up at him. He didn't get better. So, he died. Somehow it's a distant thought compared to everything else.]
Thanks. How are you doing?
no subject
I haven't gotten sick since, so you can say I'm doing fine.
no subject
Well... since you listened to me, if you need anyone, I'm not going anywhere. But it looks like you're doing something good with yourself. That probably helps.
no subject
no subject
Some water would be good... I don't want to keep you long.
no subject
It's fine, don't worry about it.
no subject
Shintaro...?
[He blinks once, then remembers his manners and moves to let him in.]
Come in. Asch is... well... I didn't go on the mission because I was worried something would happen.
no subject
It also provides a handy notifier for when Luke approaches. From the depths of his blanket pile, Asch rolls over just enough to look at his unwanted-but-helpful caretaker and the new arrival to the makeshift sickbay.]
What.
[It's a small, quiet croak of a word.]
no subject
... I brought you a vaccine. The Initiative was able to make one. [He glances at Luke.] You should take one, too, just in case.
no subject
Even though I haven't gotten sick at all?
[He glances at Asch. Man, he looks terrible. In case something this bad gets unleashed again, it actually might be a good idea. He rubs at his temple.]
... Okay, I'll do it.
no subject
What are you waiting for, then?
[Under all the damage to his throat from the cughing, he sounds honestly relieved.]
no subject
Can you sit up or get your arm on something sturdy? I got trained for it but I'm not an expert.
no subject
no subject
Asch grumbles slightly under his breath, moving a bowl off his bedside table and dropping his elbow onto it.]
That's as sturdy as it's going to get.
no subject
I don't know if you have these wherever you're from, but it shouldn't hurt that much. ]But he rubs Asch's skin a little anyway, remembering when he used to be a kid, before administering the vaccine. It only takes a moment.]
no subject
How long will it take until he gets better?
no subject
[Geez, morbid much?
He's not really expecting to feel much of anything - it's a pinprick, really, his dead nerves don't usually pick up on anything that small. When he does feel it, his head jerks up and his arm twitches a bit, a mostly involuntary reaction.
Well, that was a surprise.]
no subject
[Real morbid. Shintaro wonders what sort of life you'd have to lead where that sort of thing is nonchalantly brushed off.]
S-sorry, did it hurt?
[But he's turning to Luke] I'd give it a day or two... I wasn't as sick anymore when they gave me mine, so I can't say for sure.
no subject
[Well, if Asch is stable, he might go out and run some supplies anyway.] Okay.
no subject
[He looks pleased. You guys should probably be concerned.]
Should probably double the recovery time anyway.
