The virus is spreading, and even the Dan is catching it. And so are their friends. This is whatever they decide to do during June while sick. Prose and action spam friendly!

Hey Luke. [He gives the less-glarey redhead a nod in greeting, thanking him and stepping into the house. He follows him to Asch's room where he takes in the sight of him. Even with a vaccine, he might want to go see someone at the clinic, probably.]

... I brought you a vaccine. The Initiative was able to make one. [He glances at Luke.] You should take one, too, just in case.

[Luke makes a face.]

Even though I haven't gotten sick at all?

[He glances at Asch. Man, he looks terrible. In case something this bad gets unleashed again, it actually might be a good idea. He rubs at his temple.]

... Okay, I'll do it.

[bloodyashes]

[Shintaro is a life saver, possibly literally. Asch doesn't even question before rolling into a weak sitting position, pushing back the short sleeve to expose more of his arm.]

What are you waiting for, then?

[Under all the damage to his throat from the cughing, he sounds honestly relieved.]

Vaccines are also preventative. [He smiles a bit when Luke agrees.] Great.

Can you sit up or get your arm on something sturdy? I got trained for it but I'm not an expert.

[Luke fidgets a little. He's not freaked out by needles or anything, but this whole thing has been pretty bad from the beginning. He does move, however, to help Asch sit up-- if he needs it.]

[bloodyashes]

[Nope, he is so refusing that help, Luke. Come on, what did you expect.

Asch grumbles slightly under his breath, moving a bowl off his bedside table and dropping his elbow onto it.]

That's as sturdy as it's going to get.

That's good enough. [Without proper medical equipment, this is probably better than when he had to hold Kido's arm. He grabs the nearest chair and stations himself close by, pulling out a small syringe and pulling on some latex gloves.]

I don't know if you have these wherever you're from, but it shouldn't hurt that much. ]But he rubs Asch's skin a little anyway, remembering when he used to be a kid, before administering the vaccine. It only takes a moment.]

[He tried. Gold star for Luke.]

How long will it take until he gets better?

I've been stabbed plenty of times in my life, don't worry.

[Geez, morbid much?

He's not really expecting to feel much of anything - it's a pinprick, really, his dead nerves don't usually pick up on anything that small. When he does feel it, his head jerks up and his arm twitches a bit, a mostly involuntary reaction.

[Real morbid. Shintaro wonders what sort of life you'd have to lead where that sort of thing is nonchalantly brushed off.]

S-sorry, did it hurt?

[But he's turning to Luke] I'd give it a day or two... I wasn't as sick anymore when they gave me mine, so I can't say for sure.

[Luke blinks at Asch.] Something wrong?

[Well, if Asch is stable, he might go out and run some supplies anyway.] Okay.

...Yeah, just a bit.

[He looks pleased. You guys should probably be concerned.]

Should probably double the recovery time anyway.

[Didn't he just say something was wrong? Why is he smiling? Martians must be on the same level of existence as women. He'll never understand them. It's best not to dwell too long on it.]

Well, if you're going to be fine... [A swap of antiseptic, and a bandaid over the skin. Shintaro pauses, making sure he did everything right.] There.

[He then turns to Luke. It's your turn buddy.]

[Luke is still distracted by Asch when sits on the edge of the bed, bracing his arm on his leg as he holds it out.]

... Sometimes, I really don't get you.

It's mutual.

[Perfect isofons with a perfect understanding? LOL, not in this universe, bud.

Asch rubs at his bandaged arm slightly before tugging his sleeve back down. If nothing else, the vaccine seems to have given him some spirit back.]

I actually felt it, which means that the reversal of my fonon separation is continuing. That's all.

[AKA he is slowly regaining his health. Thus the small, internal celebration.]

The reversal of your-- what? [He remembers fonons. All he knows is that they allow Jade to keep his spear in his hand or something. What is with Auldrant science???

He moves his chair over to Luke, pulling out a second vaccine and performing the same process. Luke's bandaid has a paw mark on it.]

[Luke takes in a little breath at the poke, but he doesn't seem to dwell on it too much.]

Really? That's-- that's great!

[He doesn't realize it's over until Shintaro's pulled away. He looks down and sees... a bandaid.]

... oh, that's kinda... cute.

It's not fully reversed. Just better.

[Sorry Shintaro he's not explaining anything. You do not need to know that he was slowly dying and is now getting better. If he tells you you'll probably develop a guilt complex over bringing him the sick.

There are enough people in this room with guilt complexes as it is, what with Luke being moe over there. Asch looks like he's about to say more, but he's interrupted by the need to cough. Because vaccines aren't instant cures or anything.]

[He's just going to assume that people from Auldrant don't like explaining things. He'll just have to find a book later, but he doesn't think he's that curious either. So he shrugs and snickers a little at Luke's reaction.]

At least you don't dislike it... sorry, we were running out of plain ones.

It might if we give it more time. [It'll help Asch heal nicely, too.

His smile at Shintaro is a little embarrassed.]

Hahah, it's fine. Um, thanks for the medicine.

Do you want anything while you're here?

[The people from Auldrant who actually understand things get sick of getting stuck with Jade's workload. Asch grunts a bit before scooting so he can lay back in with his pillows.]

That would be new and interesting. Something actually going right for once.

[Shintaro won't be the one to tell Asch to be more optimistic. He's taking off his gloves and tucking them away. His expression matches Luke's: a little embarrassed.]

If it's not too much trouble, can I ask for water? I haven't had any in a while.

[chosenfake]

[Luke nods.] Yeah, no problem. [He turns and heads into the kitchen. He's the kind of person to like cold water, so he has a pitcher in the fridge ready to go. It's a short wait for a glass. He sets it out for Shintaro, and then goes to find a snack or something-- ah, here we go, some bread.]

When's the last time you ate something?

Not that long ago. I grabbed something this morning, but I haven't really sat down and eaten since getting sick.
