but you won't fool

Date & Time: 6/13 afternoon
Location: the orphanage
Characters: Elliot, Leo, Med'an & Mera
Summary: won't somebody please think of the children??
Warnings: violence. Potential language and blood.

[ It still feels as if it's Mera's first day in this strange new world. Not too long after her arrival did the United Earth unleash some sort of virus among the population here. She's lucky she hasn't succumbed to it, staying in the lake when she needed to regain her strength, but she's been weaving in and out of places in search of information on these sleeper agents they've all been warned about.

Hearing about the orphanage, she was much quicker to pick her weapon now (a long, golden trident) and she headed over there, wanting to see how the children there fared in the midst of all this. She's seen children in the streets coughing and her heart weighs heavy with concern for them and everyone else afflicted. It seems the doctors haven't been able to come up with a vaccine for this.

The children in the orphanage seem apprehensive when she enters, although she can't blame them, given the weapon she carries in hand. Some look on with cautious interest and others are already walking out of the hall, maybe to fetch someone. ]

I mean no harm. [ She says to one boy. ] Please tell me where the one in charge of this place is so I can speak with them. [ It's the best place to start, isn't it? ]

[ The virus is a good excuse for Leo not to be at the apartments, although it's not like he'll be returning there as long as Jack is around if he has a say in it anyway (he still has to retrieve his books though), and although he hasn't been affected himself, the children at the orphanage were less fortunate. So he'd decided to stay there and help out. He can't let these children die. Not again. They weren't his siblings, he'd been careful to keep some distance, but he still cared more than he would like to admit.

The entire situation has left him quite tetchy so when a fellow Transport arrives, carrying a weapon, he's really not too keen on their presence here and he couldn't care less about whatever good intentions they may have. He ushers some of the more blatantly curious kids back into the room before turning to reply the woman addressing him. ]

She's busy, you can talk to me. [ He's looking for all the world like one of the orphans, dressed in native's clothing, with the exception of the sword hanging from his hip. ]
