Axel had to admit he was a little impressed at this kid's attitude. Here he'd just had a flaming razor-sharp weapon thrown at him, and he was being sassy. Folding his arms and giving the boy a wry grin, Axel lifted his chin a bit.

"I didn't use it on them," he said matter of factly, "I just threw it in their general direction. Using a weapon on someone indicates that they have been struck." She shrugged and shook his head. "So really, the only thing I used my weapon on was the ground."

He sighed and shifted his weight then when the boy insisted again that he hadn't needed the help. Kids and their pride.

"I beg to differ, little Viking," he said, and then lifted a finger to wag it at him. "However the next time I come across you being unfairly swarmed by a group of individuals who are clearly engaging you in a completely unfair fight, I'll just stand back and take notes." His expression sobered briefly. "Nothin' wrong with accepting a little help when you're in over your head; got it memorized?"
