it's a dead man's party; who could ask for more
Date & Time: Afternoon of July 13th
Location: The ~Realm of Shadows~
Characters: ALL Y'ALL
Summary: Koltira is a miserable bastard who can't handle his own shit and so needs the rest of the island to do it for him; how pathetic
Warnings: undead demon-things in ur business
As its name implies, the realm of shadows is a dark place. It's a plane of existence that runs parallel to the physical world, and so in appearance the terrain is similar to the forests of Exsilium's Outlands. The grass is dry and dead, the earth covered with leaf litter and tiny, scuttling insects. The trees are warped, and seem to stretch out for miles towards the sky. Their black branches are twisted and gnarled, and gleaming eyes blink warily from within their hollows. The sky doesn't look the same, either: the clouds are a dark, swirling mass, like a vortex suspended upside-down. The environment seems to shift and pulse and blur as you walk through it, disorienting you.
And, of course, there are the shadow creatures. Their numbers have swollen over the past week, and they are gliding and hissing everywhere. They travel in large packs, and once they spot someone out of place--someone meant for the physical world--they descend like locusts. And they are fast.
Their whispers carry more weight here, accompanied by the influence of their own magic. Words that a person might have shrugged off in the street now twist in the gut, even if irrationally. And those words are accompanied by lunging claws and open, eager jaws, full of sharp, jagged teeth.
A few solid hits are all it takes to defeat these creatures, but they're so quick and so numerous that it's difficult to pin them down. You'll need to be quick, too, and precise.
[OOC: If you'd like me to NPC the shadow-beasts/communicate with Koltira (aside from the 'ok we're done take us out', which you can handwave), mark the thread with three asterisks: ***. Otherwise, do as you will: remember, the demons are much stronger and more numerous here, and their psychological hissing has magical weight behind it in this plane! You may also come across one of these guys if you're particularly unlucky ...]
