Getting anywhere in the rain always seemed to take longer than anything else. Thankfully, they don't get lost on their way to their destination, and Ellie heaves a sigh of relief once she sees the clinic doors. Good. They made it. Her footsteps already feel lighter, any injuries of her own forgotten.

"Almost there. I got the door," she says to Joel, running ahead and holding it open for him. She leans inside. Sure looked like a clinic, or what remains she'd seen of labs and research facilities. Except this definitely felt alive. It felt hopeful.

"Hello? Need some help over here!"

You're... what, a superhero?

[He shakes his head, shoving his hands into his pockets and giving a shrug]

I'm just a guy who can use magic. Mine's not even that strong compared to other people in my world. Nothing...'super' about me.

It's just a normal thing, where you're from?

Yeah. Anyone with elven blood can do it.

[Which he doesn't have, but shhhhh details]

Elven? Elf? You have elf blood? Geez, that Fenris guy wasn't kidding about there being more elves here.

Heh, some anyway. I'm definitely more human than elf.

But yeah, there's a number of elves running around here- along with other races.

[vaccination]

I can't decide if this is really fucking cool or really fucking crazy. [She shoves her face into her hands, sighing.]

[wilder]

Heh, maybe it's somewhere inbetween.

This place gets some getting used to, but I'm sure you will.

[Ellie looks over at Joel through her fingers. At least he's here. That makes this all easier.]

Endure and survive. Not like we have a choice.

Yeah...you got it.

[Yeah, sure not gonna put a positive spin on that, since really not an optimistic guy here]

[Same old song and dance no matter where they are.]

[He shrugs] Some people seem to enjoy it.

...On the other hand, those people aren't exactly the sanest of the lot.

How much of the lot do they take up?

[wilder]

Not too much, I think. Though I don't really spend that much time interacting with a lot of fellow transports, so I can't say for sure.

I figured there's no fucking way that there could be so many people dragged into this place and everyone be totally sane.

Hey...at least most of us seem to be able to pass as sane!

That's fine. Just as long as they keep their crazy to themselves. I don't want to come back here for a long time.
