The Scarab tends to assume a default of finding everyone they meet as someone immediately worthy of distrust, so it's not as if he puts a whole lot of stock in its opinion. Jaime calls the shots, after all.
But it is a nice break when he can have a conversation with someone whose company he enjoys without the Scarab being snippy in his head.
