BUT TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT WE CAN REALLY LET GO ( OPEN )
Date & Time: SATURDAY AT FIVE ( IT'S BACKDATED )
Location: DITR's offices in the hold, possibly spilling out into the hall if it gets super crowded.

[This is almost like a quiz! Keep going, Tempest. He can do this all night.]
no subject
So far]
Huh. This is about the size of my own country.
no subject
[Is that even how it works? He has no idea.]
no subject
Perhaps.
[she considers that for a moment, then flips back to the map of North America. She taps it, thoughtful, before asking;]
So your accent - do all people from this country - or state - have the same kind?
no subject
[He points to the Midwest, near Chicago.]
no subject
[so countries had states, regions had accents . . . this was . . . well, it was educational]
Dialects as well, I am assuming?
no subject
no subject
[a pause, and. Well. She asks this as nicely as she can without it sounding . . . well, the way it sounds] Is your world full of humans, or different races like mine?
no subject
[He sips some wine while she pauses, then leans back against his desk with a thoughtful expression.]
We've got humans, and we've got animals. The difference between us is that humans can talk and think and create in ways animals can't. Of course, humans are technically animals, when you get down to the science of it, but our brains are far more advanced. [Now it's his turn to pause.] Or so I've been told.
no subject
You would be surprised . . . though if you've only animals and humans, then perhaps it is not the same.
[she shrugs a shoulder] Humans are the majority where I am from, closely followed by Elves, and after that a number of other . . . mm, humanoid races? I think that is the word. Animals can be communicated with, if one knows the right language, but. [she waves a hand] Not many bother.
no subject
WHAT IS IT WITH THIS PLACE AND ELVES?]
And magic, yeah?
no subject
You are familiar with worlds like mine?
no subject
[He considers telling her that he's heard stories, but after his close call with Han a few weeks ago, he'd rather not risk it.]
Or I wasn't, until I came here.
no subject
[you would blow her mind. Again. Though she does reach up to push her hood back. Her ears aren't as long as true Elf, but they're distinctly pointed, and a bit bigger than a human's]
One could almost say I fit right in, with the amount of people I have already met like you.
no subject
Just saying.
He leans over to get a good look at her ears. He's thinking hobbit, but she's not the right size at all.]
You know, there were people back in my world who'd get surgery to make their ears look like that.
no subject
A hand goes up to one of her ears]
They—why? Who in their right mind would do such a thing?
no subject
[He shrugs.
Humans, man. So vain.]

no subject
Now that's interesting. It almost sounds like she thinks that's a bad thing?]
Is that what you are?
no subject
I am a half-Elf, yes.
no subject
And half human?
no subject
[she gives a shrug] My kind is not welcome in my world. Which is why I cannot understand why anyone would want to look like us.
no subject
Why not?
