Summary: The Transports are evacuating to the Moon Base. Those on the Moon Base try to settle in and figure out their next move. Setting info can be found here.

The Hold is a flurry of activity, grim faced members of the Initiative group directing supplies and people with the subdued air of people facing their own doom, and wondering at how to process the knowledge. None of the Initiative appears unaware of what will happen; their eyes linger on the Transports, expressions pleading, hopeful, doubtful, or immeasurably sad in turn.

Every eight hours, the space ship is sent back up with a load of people and supplies. The pilots are worked until they can't; the AI stolen ages ago by the Initiative greets and corrals people and supplies at both ends, and in the middle step between.

The network continues to broadcast on narrow channels between the Moon Base and Exsilium, up until the time that all connections are lost, with the carrier located en route to Exsilium. The first airship will pass by without dropping anything, but it's too early to celebrate. At a six hour delay from behind, the second airship arrives, and with it, the dark promise of the Black Code's nuclear weaponry.

The six hour window allows for time for those left behind, either by choice or circumstance, to be pulled to the Moon Base with the successful activation of the Transport Pad. New characters will ultimately arrive with the remainder of those not yet on the Moon Base, all in time to witness the explosive contact of the nuclear warhead with the ground of Exsilium live on satellite.

But until then, there's only the hurry, the silence, and the potential for full out rioting should the Transports spread word to the Exiles inevitably left behind to face this fate.

All of these things belong to Natsu - his precious memories. The last time the United Earth attacked, the apartments got bombed and some of his things were damaged. ... with this...

I want to protect the things that are important to him, and ... Erza brought him ahead of me. So I have these. If you want to carry one of the bags, I'd appreciate it - it's a little bit more than I anticipated.

[ He collected a LOT of memories. ]

*A wall starts shimmering.*

I'll loan you guys a room. Not as much space as the guild hall... But we can at least fit what you can get in.

*Pidonus moves through the wall... She's shown Lucy this once or twice.*

[ Lucy turns, stopping short at the shimmering wall. She'd forgotten about that.. ]

... Wait, Pidonus! Wait a second..!

[ She scurries after the other girl. Even though passing through the wall is always a weird feeling. ]

I just need help carrying these - but instead of storing all of this, then you can evacuate people into her can't you?

No. For a few reasons, but the big one is simply that the base can't sustain many more people than are going up.

If they reduced the supplies-per-person to half its current amount, they could get round one third more people up no problem... But there wouldn't be enough oxygen. We'd just die up there instead of dying down here.

... oh.

I had hoped there might have been another way but... [ Being able to stock up their things just didn't seem so important to her. ]

All we can do now... Is make the best of what little time we have.

That's why I'm seeking supplies.

Supplies? Shouldn't you leave what little is here for the people that are staying behind? [ She won't say 'leaving behind'. ]

Wait, do you mean the Transports, or the exiles?

If it's the Transports, I'm pretty sure they're going to end up getting dragged up one way or another - they can't let us get killed in a no-revives fashion.

If it's the exiles? Frankly, anything I don't grab is getting torched soon enough that the utilitarian thing to do is take them. I'm not going to take everything and leave nothing, but I'm trying to think of what's best for my metaphorical own...

The exiles - what did you think I meant?

[ She's silent, but she nods slowly. ]

I'm sorry, I must seem ungrateful. I do appreciate the help - with these and all. Once we ....get where we're going, I'll move them out. [ Because she felt Natsu would feel a little better knowing his precious mementos were safe.Even though she doubted he would be all that troubled if it came down to the mementos or the exiles, and the exiles were saved. ]

... It's a terrible situation.

All we can do is what we can - and with what the Initiative's determined, we're pretty much stuck being Every Transport For Themselves.

I don't like it either... Funny, given what I'm supposed to be, but still.

[Pidonus sighs.]

Let's focus on getting everything. Call it a temporary guildhall... Until we can get the real one back.
