Just a second. [Furrowing his brow, Ed continues to eye the door for a few moments longer as it swings shut behind the hastily exiting students.] Did you already know what that conference was about?

[He's not trying to sound accusing, but the difference between that and his more habitual wariness is hard to hear while he's keeping his voice down.]
