( open ) our ag wing's back and you're gonna be in trouble (hey now! hey now! our ag wing's back)

Date & Time: October 31st, 3313, 11:59PM - November 3rd, 3313, ????
Location: Agriculture Wing, Moon Base to start. Cafeteria, warehouse, docking bay, VR rooms, Transport Pad, or Observatory later on.
Characters: Any & all!
Summary: Space Zombies are allowed out of the Agriculture Wing, slowly revving up their systems to try and infect and absorb as many of the Transports (or 12 Initiative Members) as possible.
Warnings: Log will be locked for potentially graphic violence. Please warn in threads should the violence or gore become graphic.
Notes: Specify a date and location in your top comment. You may specify multiple dates/locations. Specify a time if you wish as well.

Everything is a success at first, from the cool rush of air out of the Agriculture Wing once the doors are fully unlocked, to the heady sense of accomplishment for finally moving forward on something good for the long-term usability of the Moon Base. It's intended to remain a resource, after all, but not be a permanent home. Fraying tempers and the sense of cabin fever descending on Transports continues to showcase how important it is to get back down on Earth to regain some breathing room.

There's little enough dust between all the unmoving, unlit structures, many even supporting the barest dried husks of what once grew there. Upon the lightest touch, they disintegrate, turning into a dust that falls to the ground. The silent rows will be reclaimed and turned into functioning units, based on Transport efforts, and Transport time invested in the project.

There's just one problem. Something stirs in the reclaimed wing, among tangles of hosing and wiring. Skitterings and movements that make no sense for a long abandoned Moon Base. The further in Transports go, relying on magic or technology to generate light past the bare minimum maintained by the base, the more disturbing sights they may run into.

Of course, the most disturbing of all might be lying just around the far corner -- but don't worry, it's only a flesh wound. Try not to get surprised in the machinery, caught suffering from not looking up or caught making out with anything unsavory this holiday season, Transports. We need all of you to stay alive!

We can't bring you back right now!
speakveryclearly: Kanaya glaring at the viewer, surprised, shiny, and indignant. A thin line of blue blood trickles down from her lips. (Caught)

"Tsubomi!"

The third time Kanaya has seen her, neither aesthetically amoral nor anxiously adorable - she radiates a purity and power that instantly recalls the transformed Mitakihara girls. Looking Tsubomi over, Kanaya quickly concludes she's holding her own and manages to attack without deletriously striking her.

"I'm personally fine, it's just that - the zombies, even after I cut them..."

A disembodied pair of legs rises to prove her point, standing up unassisted for the sake of kicking her in the shin. She is so surprised she whacks it bluntly with the chainsaw a few times before finally turning it back on and cutting the limbs into submission. Her gaze returns to Tsubomi.

"They're persistently moving! Decapitated ones, whole limbs..."

Tsubomi nods. "I've noticed," she says, sounding as ponderously tired of it as no doubt reflects in her expression. "I'd expected that decapitation would end things, but I've found that only removing all the limbs, as well as the head, works well enough to avoid having them come at you again. The best solution I've found so far is destroying them..." She pauses, blasting pink light at the near pile, disintegrating the remains entirely. "But not everyone has that option, and fire--" She makes a face. "Fire burns too much oxygen."
speakveryclearly: Kanaya drawn in sketchy black outline on jade background, suppressing a protest. ((>BT)) (Reluctant)

"I don't have that option either, just this..." She lifts her saw in case there's any confusion. "Which is good for systematic dismemberment, at least, but there's only one of me."

She stares curiously at the result of Tsubomi's magic. "Are you using pyrotechnics or working on some more efficient level, there?"
buttpunch: (✿ you don't know what a tv is?)

the wonders of dubiously defined mahou shoujo magic

She nods, understanding. "Someone suggested the airlocks, if you can survive in vacuum. For now perhaps we can team up? They're much easier to destroy when they aren't attempting murder."

She lifts her hands, summons pink spheres. "It's magic," she says, "so I don't really know. It's not fire, though, from what I can tell--sometimes it grows flowers. It seems to work well enough!"
speakveryclearly: Kanaya looking over at something, not entirely satisfied, flickering. (Calm)

zombie threads: where are they now

She shrugs. "I think staying within the boundaries of the base is going to be a lot safer for all involved parties." Oxygen may not be the operative word for her, but she does not like what she has heard about the physical properties of space that does not exert fifteen square inches of pressure on the body. The light of Tsubomi's hands attracts her eyeballs; strange pseudoshadows are cast by their combined auras.

"It sounds like you're working with a different form of energy, then. In which case we should go forward together!" Her nod borders on enthusiastic, as there is a little too much infected blood clinging to her face to take her all the way to excited.
