"I read a lot," she says, smoothing out the damaged paper as best she can before setting it down and picking up another sheet. "Not as much as I did back home. The selection's more limited, but I manage."

She sighs. "There's also the clinic to help with. And I'm learning to fight and defend myself. My boyfriend just arrived. It's - sort of astounding that I have any free time at all, honestly." And then she grins, shakes her head, and laughs.
