The statement “Let’s go to Vegas” exists as the multiverse’s quintessential definition of, “well it seemed like a good idea at the time.” Even in this case, it really had, between zombies, insurrection, and the day to day tedium of life on the moon. Besides which, Xerxes Break has a new sentient (sentient-er) weapon, which in a stunning show of good judgement is too dangerous to test on the moonbase, nor in any concentration of people. Las Vegas, set against the backdrop of the vast, desolate Mojave desert, seemed to be a perfect choice.

When our heroes wink into existence, squinting against the early-morning desert sunshine, they’ll find themselves duly welcomed. Come play in the casino. When you feel a bit peckish, indulge in all you can eat. Take your winnings and go shopping; at night, take in a show. And if you’ve done really well gambling, unwind in a ridiculously luxurious suite.

he can stare at gilbert until that minute passes. luckily, he's got enough money on his person to buy the inevitable second set of pizza slices and ice cream. )

[Mumbled through his hands without actually looking up:]

It doesn't help if you're just going to sit there and stare at me!

( gil can probably hear his chair scraping backwards as he moves to stand.... )

[He finally drops his hand away and looks up. Oz what are you doing.]

( he is looking over at a...claw machine nearby, a little past the 'lane.' why it's there is a mystery, but if gil needs some space to recover his appetite!!

also it looks fun don't judge him. )

[Okay, so he'll just.

Sit back in his chair with his arms crossed over his chest and watch Oz. Not staring, ffs, just watching to make sure that he doesn't cause any trouble! To whatever that strange machine is.]

( oz has to dig in his pockets to pull out the appropriate coins, then feed them into the machine and watch it light to life.

[He frowns, staring at that machine with suspicion.]

( oh yes, the upbeat electronic music is very sinister.

he stares intently through the glass to pick out a plushie with his eyes, and then with an air of intense concentration starts to manipulate the claw with a joystick... )

[Maybe not sinister, but still strange!

Oz don't you know that these machines are a scam....?!]

( maneuvering the claw towards one of the plushies.... )

( THE CLAW DESCENDS.... )

( and the flashing lights and tinny music come to an end, with the toy waiting expectantly to be picked up.
