He laughs. "Nah, it's okay," he says with a shake of his head. "I know, people got used to 'Axel'; even Riku messed it up a couple times. So long as you try, that's enough. Besides..." He smiles fondly. "Even if I don't like who I had to be when I was Axel, there's a few things that happened during that time that I wouldn't undo for anything in all the worlds."

If he hadn't lost his heart, he never would have met Roxas or Xion. He never would have had the experiences he did. Sure, plenty of them were bad, but... can you really quantify the things that shape who you become? Were it not for the Organization, he might never have become Axel, might never have done what he'd done... but who would he be now?
