[1; When they'd first heard about an abandoned castle and museum, Gilbert had wondered just why anyone would abandon all of that space when it could still be spruced up and livable.
And now that they've arrived in it, he can see for himself just why that was. This whole place is terrifying! The whole place is one big threatening atmosphere! It's still chilly and dirty when he starts to explore the place, so should you come across him he'll be wearing a thick coat and knitted scarf (all black, of course) and carrying a flashlight, shining the light into the darkest corners of the creepy place. Still not used to carrying a flashlight for light rather than a candle, he often runs into things on the floor that are just outside of where the beam falls, and - is that painting's eyes following him? Maybe this was a bad idea after all.
2; Bad idea or not, it needs to be cleaned out and ready for Transports to move in. Gilbert is head of the cleaning committee, self-appointed of course. He's gathering old blankets and sheets and drapes and throwing them out, preparing the worn mattresses for new bedding, acquired through favors from the locals and resources with the DITR. There's also a good deal of sweeping and scrubbing and dusting and arranging heaters in finished rooms going on. Claim yours before someone else does.
3; R&R? Fat chance. Those pastries and hot chocolate that you're enjoying? This guy is probably making them. Gotta feed the house and stock the shelves. (And rip down that damned mistletoe, thank you Break.)
4; Gilbert doesn't play in the snow, but he will be out at random times in the day to get a breath of fresh air or simply keep visual tabs on everyone who does have the luxury of knowing when it's time to take a break and try to enjoy the freezing temperatures. Better make sure you're bundled up or you might just find a very tall, overbearing young nobleman wrapping you up in scarves and knitted hats.
