[Hearing the bells at first, Gilbert is sure that it has to be some sort of grandfather clock. Which would be handy to keep upstairs in the lobby of the hotel or the kitchen, or really anywhere that more people would be congregating and didn't have a pocketwatch of their own. Tablets tell the time, of course, but Gilbert still doesn't think of it first when checking a clock for the time makes so much more sense to him.
But as he gets closer to the sound, it's becoming more and more obvious that this noise, whatever it is, can't be a clock at all. He shines his flashlight up into the room as he steps through the door, and then stares in shock at the sight of the girl jumping happily on - whatever that thing is.]
