(closed) you say that I'm kinda difficult, but it's always someone else's fault
Date & Time: December 31st
Location: Outside the arrival area, and other adventures
Characters: Chloe Frazer and Helena (closed)
Summary: Helena turns up after a fight with Lady Shiva and Chloe gets to find her.
Warnings: Mentions of violence and some nasty injuries, mentions of death and self destructive tendencies. Anything else will be added!
( She'd been about a half second from blacking out.
She's not entirely sure if she has already, if this is fragments of unconsciousness and damage done by Lady Shiva, the memories threading together in her head and the sudden onset of cold. It bites into her skin and the mix of pain and blood and snow reminds her of No Man's Land, of the Joker. The memories have no place and there's all these new ones contending with them, Allison and Jaime first, then Barbara, Chloe. Others come in, but she's gripping her motorcycle handles hard as she tries to hold it up and herself with it, teeth gritted as she pushes through the snow.
They're her kids. Not like her students back home, different, and she can remember the moon. This isn't the moon, certainly, but her wrist is bloody and broken as she tries to throw her weight behind the bike and make it just-- move, as snowflakes settle in her hair and over her gloves, and the bare skin of her legs and abdomen protest the cold, sticky with blood and scars standing out against the pallor of her skin, even as she tries to pull her cape tighter around her. There are many, between the fresh wounds, but the worst are four bullet wounds on her stomach. )

So she's shuttling supplies late at night in the rims and frost when the two unintentionally cross paths, bundled up to her ears against the drift as she squints against the darkness to spot--] Oh Jesus Christ.
[And from there Chloe drops what she's carrying, breaks off into a jog at ten feet off to cover the distance between them, gloved fingers unsure of exactly what to do in response to the mess of red she finds once she's there; after a moment, she yanks her coat off for the sake of settling it round Helena's shoulders.] What the bloody hell did you do?

( She remembers her. Chloe was like fire, probably the kind that'd burn you up if you got too close, but could give you focus in the dark. Maybe something like warmth and comfort, if you got sentimental, but you'd have to remember that she was something more wild. It's jarring, the conflict of pain and fog, and memories being shoved back into her head. Her grip on the motorcycle handles tighten, she licks her lips, trying to figure out how to explain it without really explaining it. )
I talk too much is what happened. ( A beat, eyeing the coat, sighing with a bit of relief despite herself. ) You're gonna catch a cold.

I've been through worse in less and I'm not half naked at that.

( Part of her hates that she's getting her blood on Chloe. ) It's my spare uniform.
( She's heard this stuff before. ) You don't have my abs, either.
( No, no, joking was a bad decision. )

C'mon sunshine, hop on the bike slow and careful as you can. [Because without it she imagines there's no making it to help before bloodless is too much to repair.]

Only as she grits her teeth and swings her leg - drags it, really - over the bike, so she can sit. This would be better if she weren't so cold. Cold she can handle, but this cold isn't the typical time she wears this uniform, and it was a death match. Once she feels as steady as she's likely to get, she wets her lips, trying to wrestle around the words. Weeks? Jesus. )
Worth it?

Then again, what does?
For the moment there's no time to bother or care; she's on the bike behind Helena, one arm keeping her steady, the other on the handle as she moves to make sure the controls aren't completely foreign. Priorities. Priorities like keeping her girl alive without help from a machine rigged up to bring back the dead. ] Anything worth noting before I get us out of here?

( She's be sharper and more questioning and chase this up if the cold weren't chewing through her. It can wait, maybe. And if she knew that, that she was one of Chloe's people - her girl - then it'd make the prospect of spilling just why she was fighting so much more painful. She's not important to people the way Dinah is. That was why she had to give up her life before Dinah could risk hers, was why she'd thrown the challenge down at Shiva's feet. )
I'm not sure what's broken and what isn't.
(That's fair warning, right? ) And I'll kick your ass if you dent my bike.

When did she get here, this 'lady' of yours?
no subject
Still full of yourself.
( For all the talk, though, Chloe's more straight up than a lot of the capes back home.
Maybe Helena's just used to growing up with criminals. Who knows?
Despite herself, Helena's eyebrows raise. ) If she did, I'm dead. ( A beat, before she clarifies, realising the confusion. ) I went back home for a while. Real nice place.

What on earth happened back there?
