day one, day one, start over again
Date & Time: january 5th, year 2013
Location: new york city
Characters: karkat vantas and soldier blue.
Summary: sometimes you may not want to let go of the past.
Warnings: feeling levels surpassing critical mass and also a lot of profanity, it's karkat.
It is an entirely impulsive decision, and one he second guesses throughout every stage of its execution. The moment he sends a text to Blue's tablet -- "SO YOU CAN STILL DO THAT DIVERSION THING RIGHT" -- he wants to claw the message right back, change his mind then and there. He doesn't, though. It's weakness, again, and hypocritical of him, too, but he can't shake the idea once he's thought of it.
To go back to the iteration of the City that exists on this planet. The one known as New York, here.
And if he's going to succumb to that weakness, then, well, why shouldn't he take Blue? The pointless icing on the pathetic grubcake. Besides, he doesn't want anyone to notice him going, particularly not the mechanic -- and Blue is the only one he is aware of able to facilitate that. In that regard, he has little other choice, if he really wants to go. And he does.
He wants to see the City.
He wants to go home.
