The journey went without incident. Sometimes, Francœur stuck his head out of hiding further than he should or he chirped a little too loudly, but it all went well.

He lingered at the doorway, looking at the keypad. It made interesting sounds when Jericho entered the code. Distracted, the door closed in front of him. He pressed a button. It made a sound! He chittered happily. He entered the same code Jericho put in; he had followed him so closely that he saw it. There was a rhythm in the way the keys beeped.

The door opened again. Much as he would have liked to hear the keypad again, he went inside.
