At Crucible's words, Kang couldn't help wincing a bit. It brought back old memories, of the war and every past encounter with a metallic dragon; he saw the silver from when he was still only in charge of a bridging company carrying Cuomo off, with a look of disgust on her face. He saw the pity in the eyes of a pair of brass dragons as they swooped over another draconian unit on the battlefield, jaws agape with deadly gas. And, he remembered the story of the golds and silvers pretending to be elves to lure their children in.
