Summary: Kai Leng finds his new apartment and also the four-eyed alien who lives there. This is obviously the recipe for a new friendship (hahahahaha no).

[Nananea hasn't been back to her room too much since leaving the tunnels. She had other people to visit with and other things to do before returning. But she is in the common room of her apartment now, doing some tidying up. The place is a mess from the bombardment, so she's making an effort to make it look like less of a disaster area.

She hasn't actually met any of her roommates, even after a month here, so she really doesn't expect to see anyone now. She's been actually starting to doubt she even has roommates.]

[Oh shit, I'm so sorry. I missed the ping completely until I checked back the other day! Also got a little overwhelmed with the other tags. Just not used to such big games any more. :(]

Kai Leng hadn't really had much in terms of belongings to gather when the evacuation of the catacombs had started. He'd only waited a while in order to get the chance to watch the other people, get an idea who and what he was working with here. A few non-humans, but for the most part, the people he'd seen so far all seemed human. No alien races he could identify either.

More or less content with that, he had finally made his way to the unit they had assigned him. He wasn't planning on staying long, watch itching to get a better look at the rest of the area now that he could, but first, he had to settle in.

He'd thought there wouldn't be any problems with that. And honestly, he'd only ever seen a few female batarians in his time. But the one that stood there when he arrived, in the middle of the room, was the strangest looking one he'd ever met. They'd assigned him to share a room with a batarian of all things. The surprise made him physically cringe, and stop dead in his tracks. For a brief moment, the overwhelming desire to slit her throat threatened to overcome him, but aside from a flash of anger in his eyes, he had to say he kept himself remarkably under control.

"What are you doing here?" he managed to press finally.

[She is startled to see an unfamiliar face walk through the door she was starting to think of as solely hers, but she smiles broadly anyway. Even if his tone doesn't sound very friendly- but maybe he is just startled to see an unfamiliar alien in his living quarters!

Although she can't say she would be so grumpy if the situation was reversed, but she knows humans (if he even is human) sometimes react strangely to new things in their environment. So she is just going to try to be as friendly as possible, offering a wave with two of her hands, all smiles]

Oh! Hello! You are one of my roommates, then! We have not yet met, but I am Kinna Nananea.

Kai Leng didn't move, unable to dispel the disgust and anger written on his face, and his fingers were itching to close around the hilt of his knife. This had to be a bloody joke. He only bit back his fury for long enough to answer.

"There has to be some mistake. I wasn't told I'd be rooming with a..."

He neither wanted nor could finish that sentence, because now that she had turned around, he couldn't even tell what she was after all. Instead, he decided to just gesture at her, hoping the connotation was clear.

[Well, in her home universe, her species isn't too popular- but she's never been on the receiving end of a look like that. It's enough to make her smile falter- just for a second. She's still trying to be cheerful, friendly. Maybe she can smooth things over with this human, if she's nice enough!

Even if she's now nervously wringing her hands. All of them.]

I- No, no! I do not think there is a mistake. No. And- I am sa-marad. Are you...familiar with my species?

[OH GOD ASLDKJASL- That sight is so weird that he has to fight the urge to look away, but the irritation grows exponentially.]

Is that some kind of batarian sub-species?

Batarian- no. No! I am not familiar with that species. Like I said! I am sa-marad. And that is all.

Well, I'm not familiar with the species. So what do you have to tell me about you?

There is much I could tell you! And I would be very happy to. [She still seems a little nervous- she's still not sure if this is shaping up to be a friendly discussion. But damnit she is going to try.]

But first- your name? You are human, yes?

I don't about your culture or anything like that.

[The disgust in his voice is still barely even hidden.]

I just want to know what I should be looking out for. Poisons, tendency to eat humans, dextro, anything like that.

Eat- No! No, no, no! [She looks a little distressed, actually, that he would even suggest that. Look, she knows she has a lot of sharp teeth, but why do people keep jumping to that!?]

No! Absolutely not, Daniel! I would absolutely never eat a sentient species.
