The Final Countdown
Date & Time: Afternoon of the 2nd.
Location: Unit 904
Characters: Lee Chaolan, Margulis, and Isaac Clarke
Summary: Three badass men gathered in the same room can create some interesting conversations.
Warnings: Loads of sarcasm, language, a bit of small talk about weapons and women, and some other mischief that could happen along the way.
Lee entered the suite wearing complete camouflage, armor that had seen better days and a rapier which looked out of place.
He grinned and strolled on through the room as if he was accustomed to dystopia. Otherwise refined and polished, he didn't seem all that bothered by his surroundings. He removed his helmet first. He shook his silver hair free with a deep exhale. "I will be pleased when the day comes that I can return to better days. Alas, the appearances that my work is never done is a constant no matter the reality."
His contact covered eyes scanned the room and took the middle room. With his helmet in hand, he lightly traced a gloved finger over the table and placed the helmet down. "Housekeeping can use a bit of work. No matter. It's a minor issue."
His hands moved to unbuckle the chest plate and spine guard. The metal snap clips needed strong hands to depress the sides to slide the male end away. Three of them held the whole thing in place. He shrugged out of the heavy thing and it landed on the floor with a graceless thud. Lee flinched slightly. He had forgotten how heavy it was. "Heavens." He bent down to pick it up and set it aside next to the couch until he could find a better place for the shielding. The same went with his gloves, rapier, utility belt, and grieves.
He sat on the couch with a heavy sigh of relief. At least he caught the tail end of the war this time.

"Well, I suppose it was too much to hope for that I would have my living quarters to myself. I hope you don't intend to be too disruptive."
no subject
Calm and aloof, Lee looked back down at his boots and finished his task. "That depends upon whether or not I have a lady friend over, though I assure you, I have no intentions of marking territory just yet." He chuckled softly.
no subject
"That falls under the category of information best kept to oneself."
no subject
He turned his head to look over his shoulder at his new rooming companion with a grin. "Worry not, I'm not that crass. Your expression alone has made my day amidst the chaos and ill conceived notions of epic disproportion. Aside from that, my intentions are purely professional."
no subject
"I should hope so. This is hardly the kind of place to squander one's time with pointless diversions. Particularly ones that could so easily complicate matters with a potentially needed ally."
no subject
"I assure you, the only complication I am interested in consists of wires and a lot of leg work. An excursion into the zone would be most acceptable at this time. I wish to take a look at what had transpired and salvage a few parts for some kit bashing." Lee pulled a contact lens case from his pocket and set it on the table along with some eye drops. He didn't exactly bring any saline with him, at least not enough to wear them for daily use, he began removing his contacts.
no subject
"Getting the lay of the land, such as it is, is also a worthwhile aspect of such an endeavor. Since we clearly aren't safe from enemy attack here, knowing the terrain even beyond the city itself should be to our advantage."
no subject
Then came the drops for storage. If he could manage to keep them, that would be good but in an environment like this, it may not work so well. He opened his eyes to reveal silver irises as he looked to Margulis.
"If we are to be here for the long haul, it is best to pack well for the trip and a good map is always helpful. I would be interested in your opinions should we see anything worth the conjecture." Lee was more than interested in what brought him here other than some petty war.
no subject
"Of course. An excursion of that nature is served far better with multiple members taking note of and making considerations about details they discover. It would be an unacceptable waste to leave something worthwhile unnoticed simply because one person failed to notice it or realize its significance."
Margulis, on the other hand, was not pleased by what he'd heard about the United Earth and all he had to go back to was a much more confusing and uncomfortable prison world.
no subject
Lee slipped his boots back on and tied them tightly, the leg of his leather pants covered the boot. Either way, he had something sturdy. "Interesting that you pointed that out." Lee stood up and belted on his rapier.
"With so many here, I wouldn't be surprised that some formed squads. The question is, would they be friend or foe. To determine an alliance would be dangerous without knowing each other by name, yes?" Lee smiled and held out his hand. "I am Lee Chaolan."
no subject
"If anyone thinks infighting in this situation is in any way acceptable, then their idiocy truly knows no bounds."
He accepted the handshake with a firm but somehow restrained feeling grip. The fingertips of his gloves were made of some sort of stiff material that held them in their claw shape despite the slight pressure against them.
"Margulis, former commander of the U-TIC Organization's militant fleet."
no subject
He let go of Margulis' hand with a lift to his chin.
"Former commander is still impressive. I'm CEO of Violet Systems and former head of the Mishima Zaibatsu. As you can tell from those titles, I'm a businessman. Now, I build, manufacture and test robotics and software with a lot of hardware applications. Weapons, are my game, especially the personal kind. Correction, I did in my world. Here, I'm just another soldier working for the Initiative." Lee swept his hair back to shake off the lingering helmet feeling.
"It seems that no matter where we go, idiocy follows the few that refuse to see past their own nose out of arrogance." Lee said as he turned his head toward the window. The whole scene outside looked bleak and unappealing. "Just like home," he frowned.
no subject
"I... uh. This is 904, right?"
no subject
"Fools exist in any world. It's impossible to escape them entirely, the best we can do is show those who are willing to listen the error of their ways and try to keep the rest out of our way."
At the interruption, he turned back to the door and frowned.
"It is. Another roommate, then?"
no subject
Lee straightened up and grinned toward Margulis' direction before he looked back toward Isaac. With his rapier belted on, the manner of dress and his appearance looked completely off. "You are correct, sir!"
Figures I'd forget to track this after I tagged in, wow self.
"Well, good to know I'm in the right place. I guess that does make us roommates." Isaac gave the two a brief nod, though he wasn't entirely sure what to make of the zeal of the man with... silver hair? Maybe it was more that it was such a stark contrast to the other man that threw him off.
"I'm Isaac Clarke. Just arrived here."
Oh well.
"Margulis. I'm a new arrival as well."
This is a lovely disaster. <3
Of course for Lee, if it means being the one to keep the peace, he'll feel right at home. Between his entire adoptive family and himself, he was used to the drama.
Yes. Yes it is. 8D
"We're all new, huh? And here I was thinking I could get a bit more insight on this place." There was a lapse, but only for a second before Isaac added almost sheepishly. "No offense."
Good thing nobody thought nothing could go wrong, huh?
"Then use the network. So far, I've managed to establish through it that the United Earth is indeed hostile toward the entirety of this island and that we arrived quickly after a bombing and attempt to destroy the pitiful population here with monstrous creatures."
LOL Oh, never! :D Murphey's Law lives here.
"None taken. As Margulis had stated, the network has a wealth of information, although I don't entirely trust all of what the individuals say completely. There is a bit of misinterpretation and malnourished truth sprinkled no matter where we go. I suggest being careful what to trust and what to take as truth.
As far as the event that had occurred, that is very real." Lee said as he crossed the room with a thoughtful expression. "Best not to lend a hand so readily without a good gauge first. I shall do just that."
LOL Good times are abound.
"A bombing?" He'd seen evidence of the monsters, so there was no need to question that. "Sounds like we missed a party."
He didn't sound too disappointed though.
