He rose from the bow. It was one thing to be proper amongst those back home, but such manners seemed hardly enough for such great folk like Elves, and particularly the Golden Lady. Frodo held her gaze as long as he could, but found even then there was something too deep and so old lurking there, something as beautiful but lonely like starlight. He dropped his eyes after some time.
"Neither had I," Frodo said, though secretly he had been wondering whether they would even meet at all. They all went towards doom, but he wondered, and not for the last time, if there would be any return from it. "How have you come to be here? It seems I only saw you hours ago."
