❨ and still i find it so hard ❩
Date & Time: Evening; Nov. 11th, 3312
Location: Artemis' apartment to start.
Characters: some douchebag and some jerk (Artemis & Azrael)
Summary: MAKE OVERS and self-loathing and vampire drama.
Warnings: None; will update if necessary.
Azrael had made his way to Artemis' apartment at what he was certain was the least ideal time. Still, that did not matter to the vampire, who knocked upon the door with an insistent displeasure and an attitude as though he'd chosen to believe there would be nobody in the vicinity except Artemis. Which he hoped were true, once he'd begun to knock. Waiting on the outside of the door, Azrael quietly considered his reasons for coming here.
He did not like Artemis. Well—that was incorrect. He liked some very small things about Artemis, and most notably of those things was the fey's tendency to confirm in the vampire his own longstanding issues of self. It was not a very large secret to anyone with any empathetic skill that Azrael was very much insecure, and he spent a great deal of his life anticipating that others would dislike or judge him because of it. Artemis, as it turned out, did both of those things—rather, he did dislike him, and that was within expectation. Without surprises.
However, Azrael had spent the better part of his last few nights in a personal turmoil with himself. He valued Artemis' opinion; not because he thought it mattered, but perhaps because Artemis paid the most attention to him the most recently, and behaved with him as he expected and not in a way that he could not place. So, that on his mind, Azrael waited for the inevitable arrival of Artemis at the door with a feeling of self-loathing and nauseous expectation in his stomach that he thought inappropriate for a man who was nothing more than a laughably re-animated corpse.
