can you even carjack a spaceship [5/1]
Still, the plan would be simple: first a smaller team more focused on stealth go in and confirm it really is a functioning ship, disable the more technological security, alarms and cameras, and make sure the front gate gets opened. That done, the rest would "storm the castle", so to speak, take out the guards, and either destroy the ship (if it were still nonfunctional) or... steal it for themselves, though still destroying the compound computers and labs before they jet.
If all goes as planned, they'll be taking off for space before the sun even begins to rise. ]
( Breakdown of teams goes: Stephanie (stealth), Ellie (stealth), Collette (stealth), Nash (stealth), Gamora (attack), Nate (attack), Balder (attack), Khisanth (attack, if she wants any say in what they get for the ship), Asami (attack).
Caesar will be staying behind to keep an eye on things from afar (and generally not get in the way) until they have a secure route from gate to garage. If anyone from Attack would prefer to remain behind and watch his back, he won't argue. Other things to note:
- Nate can keep them in contact with telepathy
- Cloakers should be used especially for anyone who looks at all non-human, since the UE still believes the weirdo Transports to be all dead.
- The guards are just human guards with guns and military training. Scientists are just scientists. )
what i was waiting for this
But she doesn't waste time in heading for their objective - content to take out every guard that stood in her way. Be it by punching or running them through with her sword. All without a scratch, no matter what Ellie's opinion on guns vs. swords was - being faster meant she was better.
Finally dropping the last guard in the hanger, Gamora takes a moment to
look really fucking coolfind the nearest set of screens that appears to be a launch pad and tab through the options for the one that would open up the roof. ]Hanger clear. Someone get Silverberg - we're leaving in five.
[ She presses her hand against a screen, grinning as the whir of heavy machinery involved with the launching process starts. ]

[ Which happened out of sight of any normal spyglass, so how, well, that's his little mystery still.
In any case, Caesar's only way to contact them is via Nate's telepathy, though after his own experiences with Collette's thought speech and being Collette and using it then, it's not hard to figure out. Just think really, really hard at people! And he really is already on his way, too, passing through the busted front gates at a jog. ]

We can take whatever we find with us, right?
[ Because she's seen some things she wouldn't mind having with her back in Exsilium. ]

< Just don't take the kitchen sink. Anything else is fair game, as far as I care. >
[ He had no doubt the compound was full of United Earth goodies, even if they wouldn't be anything he himself could understand. ]
no subject
Good to know.
[ Ah ha. Gamora grins when there's another whirring motion as the door in the hull slides open - abandoning the controls for picking the best weapons off the guards she's killed. ]
This is too easy - there's a trap somewhere.
[ At least her pessimism comes in handy. ]
no subject
[ This time Caesar's voice is actually, physically in the same area, because he's meandering on in now, making sure to pick his way over dead bodies carefully. ]
The United Earth barely even considers the Initiative a threat on bad days and beyond them, there's no one else to oppose them. Why trap something against no one at all?
no subject
Because that's how the universe works.
[ Her universe, anyway. ]
no subject
[ Now if they had fought a load-bearing boss, then he'd be worried, but this? Nah. ]
So, this ship. Are you sure you can fly it?
no subject
[ One of her hands goes to brush the hull as she climbs up into the ship. ]
So long as it's been designed for someone bipedal to pilot it? Yes.
no subject
[ He follows after for a bit, but hesitates when she goes to climb up into the ship. He's never seen one of these up close before, or even at all before he spotted it in the compound from a distance. He's nnnnot so sure about it, safe to say. ]
Uh, so, are these safe to just walk right into?
no subject
[ Gamora's not certain how well Cosmo would have done with piloting a ship. Nothing she'd want to see - that much was certain. ]
You're the one that's not worried about traps.
[ AKA yes, they're fine, get over it Caesar. ]
no subject
[ Tiny shiba inus are no way to guard a castle! ]
Well, yeah, traps, but... [ Ughhh, fine. He hesitantly climbs up into the ship after her. ] This thing is bigger than I expected it to be.
no subject
[ Which is... weird. ]
infiltrators go???
( Collette sat in finch morph, holding on tightly to a cluster of weeds in the stretching shadows of the early morning. )
< So what are we blowing up, again? >
slams in here
Everything, eventually.
[Because, well.
There's no way they're leaving whatever's inside in United Earth hands, especially if it's a spaceship.]
But we can probably hold off on the explosives until after we've seen what we can steal.
no subject
[ Nash only seems to have one outfit, without the help of the camouflage devices that he stole for this mission. ]
I'm not really polite enough to knock.
no subject
( Collette laughs, flitting from her clump of rushes toward Nash, then over his head. )
< I can sneak into all sorts of places and call back details, if you want, before we go blast happy. Stealing stuff is exciting! Animorphs don't really get to do that. No pockets, you know? >
( She darts back toward the ground, then around in a wide circle. Collette has more energy after the days of assisted carrying, and its showing pretty obviously right now. )
slithers in belatedly
( That's an important detail.
She's still not entirely comfortable with the fact that her body is camouflaging itself when she's in shadow, but she's doing her utmost to ignore it. Working out the on/off switch hasn't quite happened, yet. Just about all traces of humour have disappeared, the closer they get to doing this thing. )
I don't reckon there's gonna be enough time for us to just chuck them in wherever, even if we're going for everything-- ( and she would like to blow up everything, yes, she's accepted that she enjoys pyromania as much as the next person)-- but there are probably gonna be spots where an explosion is going to have bigger impact. Take down more of the building in one hit, yeah? Some of us can get them set up while others are collecting whatever's gonna be useful.
( Is she being bossy? A moment, and she glances back at the others. ) What do you think?
should we work out a posting order?
She also has a feeling her and Ellie are about to butt heads on how this whole thing is gonna go.]
I can handle the explosives.
[Based on the rough information Collette and Caesar have figured out, Steph's decided where she should be planting explosives. She's also... not keen to hand them over to anyone else, even Ellie.]
Right now our concern should be the route to take to the ship, who's in charge of disabling security, and what our plan is if we get caught.
[She's wondering if anyone else in this group can even handle the level of tech security the UE will likely have.]
i'm sort of winging it but yeah!!
[ And then he adds, hastily, because the masked one doesn't seem to have much sense of humor. Fine, then, he can be serious. ]
I can knock out anyone, two or three seconds. [ He holds up a hand, the palm level at his face. ] Sleep spell.
[ And then he shakes his head. ] We have to trust our plan, and trust each other. I know some of us are close to strangers, but— you can't see where you're going when you're looking over your shoulder.
I probably can't do much to their systems short of [ he squints ] blowing them up. I've never seen… [ looking for the word, here ] anything like their devices.
how about as we are with ellie coming in next?
( Probably. She's sure the experience won't be anything to write home about, but she can take things out in a way that's not easily fixable. )
< Nash, when you do that, do people just pass out where they are? That might be best in small rooms or when we're exiting on spacecraft. >
( Plans on being caught, huh? )
< The guys around the ship move in set patterns. If we time it right, we can slip in there with them being mostly none the wise. If we get a few cameras offline beforehand... >
a fine plan
I've got this camouflage thing going on. If we time the routines, work that out, we can find the balance between people you ( pointing at Nash ) knock out, where Coll and I need to infiltrate, and what we can do while you ( glancing at Steph ) set up the bombs. We're all here because we're the ones that are good at it, so-- play to our strengths?
( Which means, she's nodding at Nash, grimacing with her own confession. ) Yeah, I mean... I'm out of my depth, tech wise. ( Another glance at Steph. ) What do you think? Want us to cover you and while you have all the hard work?
( Hmm. ) Or, we could stick together, set up a chain reaction of explosions as we go-- that means we won't give anything away with loud noises, so no reinforcements can come, we just have something set up that'll trigger everything to go up when we want it to.
( . . . ) I might watch too many movies. Can we do that?
