To Be Or Not To Be (Closed)

Date & Time: Shortly after the rooms changed around.
Location: The street and then Jake's apartment.
Characters: Jake English and Dirk Strider.
Summary: Dirk has been trying to keep his distance from Jake but when they run into each other, he gets to hang out in his best friend's room and see his own skull.
Warnings: A human skull and Strider language.

[Dirk was taking a walk down the street near his apartment complex. He had some plans and things he was going to get to occupy himself and keep himself distracted from his new roommates. They aren't bad dudes, their personalities just don't seem to mesh well with his own.

He turned a corner and spotted Jake English not far from where he was. For a moment, he's not sure what to do and he feels both guilty that he's been avoiding his best friend and nervous about talking to him.]

[ Jake, as is his normal, is out and about chatting animatedly with anyone that happens to get within hearing range of him. After a lifetime of isolation it's hard to not want to pack as much human interaction into your day to day life as is physically possible. At least, that tends to be how Jake does things.

He'd be pretty happy to keep up like this too if it weren't for the fact that he notices the elusive Dirk Strider out of the corner of his eye. Dirk can ponder all he wants about what to do in this situation, because Jake already has his own solution. He's making a beeline for the boy, arm raised up high just so Dirk can't miss him by chance. ]

Strider! Long time no see!

[Dirk doesn't miss him at all. Not with all that enthusiasm and the wave and jesus dicks why is he so infatuated with this kid?]

Hey, English. I'd actually say it's been a sufficient span of time. I was only just starting to feel the tingling caress of longing for your presence and here you fucking are.

[gunsling]

[ A question that Dirk should probably be upset that he has to ask himself, to be honest.

There's an uncertain laugh at Dirk's comment, as Jake tries to pick apart just how much of that language was meant to be ironic before he just gives up altogether with trying to puzzle it out. ]

Uh, well be that as it may it'd been far too long since the two of us had any chance to get some quality bro bonding time in.

[Dirk internally winces at that uncertain laugh because what he'd said was kind of dick-ish, wasn't it? He's being too aggressive about not being aggressive. Damn.]

You're right about that... Got some time now?

[gunsling]

[ If it helps, Jake's already put it all out of his head and just looks pleased as punch at the idea of spending some time with his good friend here. ]

For Mr. Strider? I think I could push a few things back and make some room.
